this is also posted on FBBO but thought I would try here too, so I can keep track of the thread better.

OK, maybe a unique problem, maybe some of you have encountered such a thing before.

I bought a pair of fenders that had been modified for a race car and the seller didn't point out the modification and I didn't realize till it was too late.

Basically the mounting flanges were removed where it bolts to the inner fender. So I am looking for anyone who has a wrecked fender or fender that is rusty on the bottom or something who is willing to cut off and sell me the mounting flanges and inner apron, I can weld them back on. I need the same deal for the pair, driver and passenger side fenders. Other than the modification these are really solid fenders and if I can save them, that would save me from having to hunt down fenders for my project.

What brackets or tabs, maybe show pics of a fender that has them? Couldn't you fab some up? Was the wheel lip modified too? It looks like the wheel opening is larger.....

Those fenders are cool with that old paint, I would use them for garage art and find another pair :glasses7:

that would be very expensive garage art.......do you know how much these are worth complete....almost makes me want to can the car and get an a-body.

I will try and find a pic with how its supposed to look.

I have to agree that the wheel opening has been changed. Looks like a lot of work to repair.

ok, I am not at location with the fenders but I had my cousin check and he has a friend with a 69 road runner and they measured the wheel opening to see if it was modified and the wheel opening has NOT been modified......that is how they should be.

He even took a wheel lip molding chrome piece and he says it fit perfect. there is a internet pic of a road runner to see the wheel opening.

I have not been able to find a pic of how its supposed to look but I robbed this pic from FBBO, this is a coronet fender for sale and the mounting rail (part with surface rust) is very similar but this is just to give an idea.

I think if it comes down to it, I can fab the mounting rail to the inner fender but I am still going to need the front piece around the headlight bucket area that bolts to the tie bar that in turn bolts to the grille.
