no fuel to the carb-

I just recently removed a 318 engine and installed a high profile 360 engine,
and now I cant get any fuel to the carburetor at all...had fuel distribution before
the engine exchange ,will start with the assistance of started fluid....any advise?

A little more info please.

Did you install a pump in the 360 or did it have one?

Give us an idea of what you did when replacing the engine.
 
Holes in the lines so the pump can't pull a vacuum, or a bad pump. (mechanical pump)

No power to the pump, the pump is a pusher style and needs primed (electric pump)

I go for the quick answers when I diagnose, so the first thing I would do is to blow down the line and listen for bubbles in the tank.
No matter which pump you have this works to be sure the pickup tube is in fuel.

Then check the other stuff as above.

PS, One thing a lot of people don't know is that you can loosen the bolts on a mechanical pump, and if the actuator cam is in the right place (not super critical) you can move the pump up and down and it will pump gas. (If the pump works)
 
I had trouble on my Challenger when everything was dry. I ended up having to prime the pump to carb line to get the pump to pull any fuel from the tank.
 
Pour some gas down the carb with a jar for a few starts until the lines get "primed"...
 
thanks guys,the engine came with the pump ,I was able to blow into the tank via the suppy line and hear the fuel bubbling in the tank ...pump is in fact a mechanical unit...I will attempt to prime the pump....

What changes were made to the fuel system with the engine swap? Include everything from and tank changes all the way up to the fuel pump eccentric.
 
we didn't make any changes to the fuel systems at all,engine was put on the dyno
and ran fine...it is a mechanical pump...I will check the lines and pressurizes the tank and go from there...

Check the filter in the gas tank for the pick up tube. Sometimes they fall apart and clog the pick up tube for the gas tank sending unit. Disconnect the fuel line at the tank and the fuel pump and blow some compressed air through it to make sure that it is not plugged.

I would start checking on the supply side of the pump first for any restrictions/blockages, then work your way to the carb....
 
Thanks fellows for the response they hit the spot like a cold brew on a hot day,,,there were crap in the tank causing the outlet(supply) to act as backflow preventer restricting gas flow and with that being said, i'm 360 and go to go....
