I might be a newbie to the Mopar world, but it just seems like the show is unorganized. My local show has rows of b-bodies, a row of a-bodies, everything seems more in place. I would have assumed to see the local dodge dealer with a lineup of new models. I know this is probably a rant but maybe attendance numbers would be up if some changes occurred.

it's too hard to predict how many of each car is going to show up and when. Very difficult to coordinate.

That could be part of it....

Even with having the preregistration? Then stick the people that pay at the gate in the fun field.

But you don't know when and where everybody is going to show up.

then try directing them to a specific spot.... :banghead:

Some people may have more than one type of body and want to park all of their cars together, etc...

It's not as simple as you think. Try it sometime and you'll see.

the nats have always been a clusterduck like that. people complain about it all the time. really is no excuse for it either. carlisle is 100 times more organized.

The Nats are incredible! Best Mopar show I have ever seen, but I noticed that too. With all that cash they are pulling in it should be more organized

I did talk to someone tonight in Heath that said there is talk of it moving to Norwalk to the new nhra track, but he said the grounds are much smaller.

This is the way it has been for the past 20 years. There has been some changes for the good, the modern Mopar clowns aren't bogarting the prime real estate anymore. But yeah, it's pretty much the way you see it.

Yup-same ol nationals.they need to work on more food options cause the tracks hot rod grill sucks how can you eat when ***** already sold out.alot of people are here all day?they got 1-corn dog wagon,a naco wagon, pulled pork wagon and hot rod grill, all sold out today only thing available was mystery burger and fries 5.75 each

Yes, but after the thread about the guys getting pulled over by the cops on the way to Carlisle and getting $500 in tickets, I've lost my desire to treck the 18 hours to check it out...

I've got better things to do then to get hassled by some broke *** city desperate for cash and ruin my driving record with points on my record.

Obey the law and ya won't get a ticket. Pretty simple.

Hell mopar pulled their sponsorship of the nats. They can't call it the mopar nats anymore. It's only the nats. From what close friends tell me every year more and more big vendors stop going. Damn shame. Used to be a fun event.

Did Heath crack down on things like I read they were going to?

Been here for two days now. I have a handicap placard in the car when I show up at the gate. I ask were HC parking is. they say just pull in to the vendor area , someone will tell you where to park. Like I said, It's been two days now and nobody can tell me where handicap parking is. What a joke. I just park wherever I want to !! LOL

You should read the thread. they were going down the highway with a trailer and got pulled over and trailer searched and "DOT" fines written.

Just a couple of hobbyists taking some parts to Carlisle to sell to make a few bucks. Nothing illegal. Harrassed by a county that is broke and needs money, taking advantage of out of towners as easy prey.

i used to go every year
but have not been there for a while dont miss it
i like monster mopar weekend in indy

The Nats have been a really bad since the late 90s , its a shame but also easy to see why Mopar pulled its support of the event .

i read the thread when it was originally posted. the op only posted once in the thing. did you personally see his trailer? i know i didn't.

cited us for being overweight, hauler & trailer, a small crack in the windshield, for being over the PA max weight of 10K, no breakaway switch on the trailer, and for no inspections (once you hit the PA state lines) and said we were a commercial vehicle, and for not having a log book.

if those are the laws then they are the laws. follow them and you are ok. thats the only post i have seen about anything like that happening going to carlisle. looks like a few safety issues he was sited for. i for one would like to know the trailer on the same road as me and my family are safe. way too many idiots (not the original poster) with dangerous crap on the road putting all of us in danger day to day.

learned a long time ago. there are three sides to a story. your side, their side and the truth.....:)

At least the FABO / Tent area seemed very well organized.

It was! We had a great weekend. Denny, John and the rest of the fellas do a great job at taking care of everyone. Being first timers and more then a few miles from the house they took great care of my wife and I. I also met a lot of guys on FABO and had a ton of great visiting. We will be back for sure!!
Only thing that ticked me off was no fast lane for pre-registered cars coming in, that was dumb.

I have in years past gone either to Carlisle or the Nats.
This year I did both, and think I'm done with the Nats even though it's only a couple of hours away.

Yes it's cars parked all over the place but what got me this year was:
$80 for my son and me to get in with our car for 1 day.
That's way too much, I will argue that all day with anyone.
No "show judging", no racing, and just to park in a grass field.
The food was mentioned, I won't go more into that.
The porta pots were a mess, you may tip a crew at Carlisle but I'll do that all day over using the sewer that was the bathrooms on Saturday.
The event does just feel very thrown together, no entertainment, just no value for $80.

If anybody asks Carlisle or Nats I'll tell them Carlisle 100%
Not to high jack just saw this thread and had to vent

Didn't seem as bad as everyone was making it out to be. Shutting down a lane made traffic a mess but I didn't see a ton of tickets being wrote. I got one but I'm not mad about it. The burnout was ticket worthy.

It was business as usual, which is just fine with me! Vendors were down, prices were high, people walking and daydreaming in front of you no matter what you're driving, but with that said, I sold every part I took there again, had a great time with my son, brother and friends, and can't complain!!

The one thing I didn't like was the one lane shutdown through Heath! I don't know what they were hoping to accomplish, but it seems to me that keeping the cars on the street is much better than the 1000+ cars diverting through the parking lots!! Safety first??? I think NOT!! And I heard that the cops called their new system a"success"!!! If that's what they call success, they're stupider than I thought!!! Geof
