I'm sure that alot of you guys have thought about selling your ride... The thought has crossed my mind for the last year.... I am just not sure what is a reasonable price range for what i have ... I am not going to give it away .. i have been told what i have and the condition it is in .. is far and few in between ..When i purchased it ... my main goal was to maintain stock appearing ext/int ... but underneath high HP/TQ.
If i put 500 miles on it a year it is a miracle ..

The reasons why i am thinking of selling ... Not because i want a Hellcat :)

-NO time ...
-I am around cars minimum 5 days a week .
-i drive high hp ... very expensive cars regularly every week .
-I cannot believe the vehicles that get trophies at car shows ???

1969 Dart Swinger .... T5 with saddle interior ...
Originally an Oregon vehicle ...
ALmost 48000 miles ...
Have original build sheet and fender tag...
340 and 4 speed number matching ...
ORIGINAL paint .. but left rear quarter ...
Does have some small dents/dings ...
ONLY slight rust on rear glass corner area ..
Small bubbles under lower rear stripe ...
Interior is in EXCELLENT condition !.. ( chrome /seat belts/dash trim/sun visors/headliner )
Exterior chrome in like NOS , but SLIGHT chrome flaw on front bumper .
Door weather strips like NEW ( Original )
Under body in EXCELLENT condition ...
Inside frame rails -SMOOTH .. NO RUST Scale .
Things i have done ..

- replaced interior carpet ( changed from black to saddle).
- converted front brakes to KH's ( the correct way ).
-ALL stainless brake lines
-Differential complete NEW , powder coated everything.
- SS prings
- Aluminum drive shaft.
- Rear brakes ALL new parts .
- power coated bumper brackets .
-Moser axles - small bolt
- rear wheels built by Stockton in California ( small bolt to 15 inch )
- painted wheels T5 and installed NEAR MINT dog dish caps .
- Rebuilt and power coated alt.
- Replaced eng harness.
- All in one Pertronix dist.
-Power coated factor manifolds .
- Has Dual exh 2 1/2 -2 1/4 With factory tips .
-Correct period battery.
-High torque starter
-Aluminum Griffin Radiator ( Appearance like ORIGINAL ) , i still have factory original .
-New Factory appearing carb , i still have original .
-Factory appearing aluminum intake , i do not have original .
- Replaced sill plates
-I have not done anythiing to engine ... but it is wrong color ... I am thinking previous owners may have gone through engine ??

What it needs
- left rear quarter paint work. ( Paint is checked ... incorrect prep prior to painting )
- driver door striker work ( Cracked near weld ).
-passenger door glass ( slight chip on top edge )

If i keep it, what i will do next .
- Replace trans with PASSON 5 speed
- MRL 500-600 HP stroker .

I value your input ... i appreciate your help all these years ...

Thanks

You should post some pictures. Way easier to give an opinion then. On another subject, You said you have 15 inch small bolt pattern wheels. Can you tell me how wide are the wheels, and what tire size? This is the direction I want to go. Maybe pm since it's off topic.

This is the way I see cars, in my stable at least.

I owe nothing on them
There never finished
Screw the trophy winners and there bags of ****
My ride my way! And if that's a rusty bag of ****, so be it. It goes fast as the flip side to being a finished car looking great.
If someone doesn't like it, I tell them I can fix it in a second flat, I tell them turn around, look across the feild, thee fixed! You don't see it, no be off to the next car, good bye, C-Ya later.

Got to say Rob, thats the same attitude that I have.
Cars paid for.
Looks nice, but never finished.
I didn't build it to win trophies.
If you don't like it then don't look at it.

255-60-15 tires .... i will get pictures ... cold but i will go to garage ... give me some time

You can sell it if you want, but it's a really nice car. If you sell it, you won't get your money back. Then after awhile you'll wish you hadn't sold it. Then you'll want another car, and you have to start all over again. If you are dead set on selling, that's another story.

That is a beautiful car, love the T5 color :glasses7:

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that radiator cost? Love that the top tank looks stock :glasses7:

x2!

600-700 dollars ... cannot remember exact price ....
I wish i could take better photos ... lot better in person ... chrome and aluminum looks pitted in pictures ... NO pits
Thanks for compliment ...

My question is why did you get the car in the first place. If you enjoy it, keep it. if it was a car to flip, sell it. personally If I had another 69 Dart Swinger, I would never think of selling it. I would love to have another one as I did back in 1974. my son and I have done 2 cars to date. 1976 Duster and a 1973 Dart Sport and have a 1969 Valiant in the garage right now that will be done by Spring. I have turned down $20K twice for my 76 Duster. There is no money that could buy that car as it was a father-son project. I think you have to figure out why you have it first to decide why you might want to sell it. But from my experience, if you sell it, you will regret it down the road.

Wanted an ORIGINAL number matching 340 car with documentation at the time.... NEVER bought it to flip it ... i have had it for roughly 5 years now ... You are correct.... Hard to find #'s matching/documentation 4 speed cars ..

What do you think this is worth these days ... 20? 30?.....more?

I'm too partial to the 69' to give an opinion. I have owned my GTS 24 years, driven it 1500 miles, and it will be sold when I am no longer here to enjoy it.

BOOM!!!!!! My thoughts, to a tee. As for RR Volare's situation : You have a rare car, won't be reproduced anytime soon. I would keep it as long as it's not costing you, in my opinion

What is it worth these days. That depends on 2 things. 1. how much it means to you. maybe sentimental value or how much sweat you personally put in it. 2. How much somebody is willing to pay for it. Could be $20 maybe $25K if the situation is right. When you go out and pay $18- 30 K for a new car these days and you can find one in top condition that isn't produced anymore, that is where the " how much someone is willing to pay " comes in. But I would think real hard before I let loose of that car. JMO

Funny, I have thought a few times recently about selling my dart. Maybe get another early b-body, or maybe check the e-body world out. BUT ... my wife likes the car so much she says if I sell it she will leave !

Personally, i wouldn't sell it, it looks great as is.
That being said, it's your car and do what you want with it.
Look 10 years down the road and if you won't regret it then in your heart of hearts, then sell it if you get a good offer that you can live with.
Good luck,
Tom.
