i have been looking for a set of Cragar SST's for a long time and finely found some, but the tears are 15x10. Anyone have 15x10 on the rear of their A-body? Pics please.

Thank you

Well, not 15x10's.

I have 18x10's on my Duster. I run 295/35/18's with a 1/2" spring hanger/shackle offset kit and about a 1/2" trimmed off of the quarter flange to make room.

Although it doesn't look like it because of the angle of the pictures, the ride height is the same in all of these. 25" to the top of the front wheel arch, 26" to the top of the rear wheel arch. I've since lowered the back down some more, it sits a little under 25 3/4" to the top of the rear arch now.

Awesome. So they may work after all. Thanks! Car looks good BTW

Maybe, it will depend entirely on what the backspacing is on the rims and what rear axle you're running. And of course the tires. 295 is as big as you're going to fit inside the stock wheel tubs even with a 1/2" offset and some trimming, unless you're going for that 70's SS springs with airshocks look.

Oh man that Duster looks killer with those rims... what brand are they? Interested in backspacing and axle width too. Thinking about going more modern on my Demon, but probably with black wheels

The rims are Enkei RPF1's.

Fronts are 18x9's with a 35mm offset (6.4" backspace) with 275/35/18's. But I also run a tubular UCA's, Dr. Diff's 13" cobra style brake kit, and a 3mm spacer to make things fit.

Rears are 18x10's with a 38mm offset, which is a 7" backspace. But that's with a 68-70 B body rear axle and a 1/2" spring hanger/shackle offset. So, axle is 60 1/8" drum to drum, 54 15/16" flange to flange. Perches are moved in and at 42" c-c.

Sounds like a lot of thinking, measuring and searching for the right stuff.

Yeah definitely. If you want to max out your tire size you have to take everything into account. i start with the tires I want to run, which sets the rim size. Then you have to look at backspace in those sizes, which depends entirely on the suspension and brakes. So, you either pick the rims and tailor your suspension to work with that backspace, or pick your suspension and brakes, and tailor your rims to work with that. Either way will limit your options.

And everything changes with the wheel diameter. Most 15" wheels are available in "0"offset type backspaces, while 17/18" rims are more popular in large positive offsets. The "0" offsets are good for stock width A body 8 3/4's, but don't work on the front with wider tires, especially with most aftermarket brake kits. The higher positive offsets are great for the front because thy fit better and the larger diameter wheel clears the tie rods, but they need a wider rear axle or large spacers to work in the back.

On the Duster/demon body that's pretty easy though because a 68-70 B body rear fits the bill. In my case, my car had a 7.25 stock, so the B body rear was not only better for my wheel choice but a lot cheaper and easier to find than an A body rear.

And it's only the A bodies that are mismatched like that. The E/B bodies work best with "0" offset wheels front AND back.

My Dart has 15x10's with 4.5" backspacing and 295/50r15 tires out back, I like it.

Concept shot of N50 - 15 in mini tubed wheel well and a mock up shot of the car with them mounted on 15 x 10 Centerlines and some front wheels I had on hand. I have 2 inches to the inner sheetmetal and the outer fender lip has been trimmed back to a consistent 1" width all the way around the arch. An even wider tire could be installed but the back spacing will have to be spot on.

I can only imagine that this is mini tubbed.... If so can you please post pics of them. This is what I a planning to do to my 67 Vert.

It would have to be. I couldn't even fit a 275 on the back of my '71 Dart on a 9" rim with the stock spring locations. And the earlier cars are a little tighter.

Even 255's don't always completely clear with no rubbing on the back of Dart's with the stock spring locations.

I run a 15x10 with a 6.5 back spacing and I use a full width 98 explorer rearend. I do rub a little at the top but that was befor I rolled my fender a little. I am also on a -1 inch mono leaf. I have as large as a 29.5/13/15 dirt track tire on it with the backs of the fenders cut out. with a 1/8 inch spacer it just barley rubbed with 3 men in the car.

N50-14s on 14X10s
everything is in the stock locating, except for the rear bumper, that one brung up an inch or two :)

15 x 10 with 6" backspace on B body rear with springs moved in. 29.5 x 10.5 M&H slicks.

Hey bud,
fellow Supertrick / Street Trick freak here. not sure if you'd be interested, but i have a pair of 15x8 SSTs in chrome that ive been whoarding forever while trying to find a set of SST skinnies to match the front with no luck.

im not gonna end up using them because ive since found a full set of Supertrick big n littles that im gonna throw on there now so im good to go.

PM me your contact info and maybe we can hash something out. Or better yet, if youre gonna make the trek, im gonna have them with me @ Spring Fling in a couple weeks along with some of my other goodies

anywho, best of luck with your hunt my friend!

Same car but Pro Touring vibe
17x11.5 wrapped in 315-35 and 17x10 with 245-45 for now may try 275-40 up front then settle for 255-40
