I spent over a year doing body work and blocking my car to get it straight. It was a long process and I had to walk away a few times and work on mechanical stuff for awhile.
I found a painter locally and he came to my house and looked it over and we agreed on price. Told him I wanted my car painted like he would shoot his own. I was very happy when I saw the car and the pics are as sprayed. After cut and buff it will be better than I ever could of imagined.
It's a rarity today to pay a fair price for an excellent job. Needless to say I found my painter for future projects.

Yeah, My body already hurts just thinking about what I've got to do to mine... Epoxy primer for the win!

Nice job!

I intend to drive my 'new' 73 Duster down to Mebourne from North Carolina for the Mopar of Brevard show in January. Will this car be finished and there?

It can be there, I live a 1/2 mile away. This car is not for the resto/purist folks. I call it my Johnny Cash car; 69 front clip and tail lights, 93 Magnum 300 HP crate motor, 84 lockup 999 with lockup delete, dashboard delete, interior delete, etc. Put together with what I had and bought the parts I needed as good deals came up. My 73 Dart Sport is my driver and to original to mess with; this Dart is going to be street/strip with more strip time as I get the car dialed in.

Since you did all of the prep work, what did the final spray cost you? Jambed, engine bay, trunk, etc....?

I painted engine bay black before dumping in the motor. My other car is white engine bay and you drive it once and it looks dirty again. Interior of car and trunk well I painted gloss gray.

$1500 with BC/CC
He sprayed the grill, headlight bezels, front fender blackout, scoop, and top/bottom of hood gloss black. Fenders painted off the car, inside truck lid, trunk/door/window jambs painted white.

I probably have another $500 in prep materials; primer, seam sealer, sand paper, etc.

$1500 with the paint is a great deal! Good for you! Always nice getting clean and tidy work for a reasonable fee.
