Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers..

-
Seen Ultra Flo's on a 558 8-71 blown rat, & a 500 inch 10.5 to one Pontiac. Both cars dip/dipped into the high nines, was quieter than most 400 horsepower street combinations running Magnaflow/Flowmaster parts. A really impressive muffler,in my opinion.

I like Borlas, they have quiet idle but also have a unique shreek at full song that gives me goose bumps with the right engine. I cant stand Mangnaflows and right now I am using flowmasters which have become cliché. Dynomax are my second favorite. My next muffs will be Spintech because of their outlet offerings.

Woodie, car sounds awesume had a pair of those mufflers on my previous duster sounded perfect..on a side note:flowmasters suck!!!

Your car sounds good with the Flo's.

wow people dont just have an opinion on flowmasters....for some weird reason they downright get mad and hate them? whats that all about...i dont hate ANY muffler...i just like flowmasters.... thats all folks..

Beauty. What are your specs? Sounds like a blender on "Hi" thats my favorate speed.

340/417, W2 heads and a healthy roller cam. Exhaust tubing is TTi 3" X. It was idling at 1500 rpm in that video for some reason. It has a nice lope at 1000 rpm.

clinteg...sounds great! odd though.. i post my vid with my flows and they hate them.... odd

Don't worry about it man. Everyone has their perference on what a good sounding muffler is. It's just like music. We're all different when it comes to what we listen to and think is "good" or "the best" music. One of my favorite sounding cars on here runs Flowmasters and yours sounds good too. Just a side note, one of my favorites is a late 80's/early 90's Fox body Mustang 5.0 with Flowmasters. I always liked the sound even though it's Ford.

Don't hate em' just think they sound like crap..

I've have had Dynomax Ultraflows on my Dart Sport with a TTI 3" X-pipe and TTI 1 5/8"-1 3/4" step headers for many years . The set-up was a bit faster than open headers. X-pipe helped and mufflers didn't hurt. Plus, I've gotten many compliments on the sound.

Eventually I'll be switching to their Race Bullet mufflers, but only to save a little weight and gain room around my driveshaft and differential.

So i replaced the Dynomax Super-turbos out late yesterday for the Dynomax Ultraflows.. All i can say is that.. "Best Dam sounding mufflers on a 340 i ever heard" I have Doug's headers with a 2.5" TTI X-Pipe with full tailpipes, sounds the way a Mopar should, nice and crisp with the right Bass tone to let everybody know whats cook'n under the hood.

Sounds good , do you have a before with the super turbo mufflers ? What is the difference, are the ultra louder ,or is it the "tone " .

And all the above sound good , just different .

Love me some Dynomax Ultraflow's! My old 306 fox would back fire and shoot flames while decelerating never missed a beat - got a brand new pair waitin for my 383 big block Demon haha

I hated my new Flowmaster exhaust so much I tore it off my 1973 SpaceDuster 340-4psd with MP 508 cam and made my own setup. Ran 3" headpipes from the Hedman headers with an H-pipe then reduced down to 2.5" Ultraflows and finished it off with 2.5" Accurate LTD tailpipes and factory style SS tips.

Sounded friggin great and my wife like it much better too!

Which Borlas do you have? Last weekend I tried Borla ProXS mufflers and they were WAY too loud on my big block Duster. They're suppose to be quieter than the Borla XR1's.

Why don't you like Magnaflows? They are just a 'straight-through' muffler just like the Ultraflows and Race Pro's and a few others. I had an X-pipe on my BB Dartsport, along with Magnaflow mufflers and turnouts to the side, it was fairly quiet, sounded good, and ran 9.90 through the exhaust system and 9.90 w/o the 75# exhaust system. The Magnaflows were stainless too.

My current car, BB Duster, doesn't have an Hpipe or Xpipe yet so I went with Dynomax Super Turbo's to quiet it down and I love them so far, I wouldn't race with them though, I have electric cutouts on my car too so I can bypass the quiet street mufflers.

You guys say the Ultra Flo's are fairly drone free? I have a pair of Magnaflows on my car and I swear it drones more than when I had a pair of Flowmaster 40s on the car.

What model of MagnaFlow's are they?

I haven't run the magnaflows, but on my car the Ultra Flo's are drone free. Some of that depends on your exhaust set up though. I'm just running Doug's headers into a 2.5" summit kit with the Ultra-Flo's, no crossover.

I have the ultra flos as well now (the welded ones). I like it, sounds good, not all that loud in the car honestly.

What model of MagnaFlow's are they?

Not sure the p/n, but they are the older Performance XL models. Still straight through, but they have rolled bead lock seams instead of the welded seams like the rest of the Magnaflows.

I mean, the engine is relatively mild, iron manifolds with 2 1/4" pipes.

I have the dynomax super turbos from tti on my 418 w2 headed engine
2 1/2 inch x pipe with w2 1 3/4 headers
3.55 and 26 inch tall tires

I just finally did a 40 minute trip in the 67 dart and i was impressed with the sound. It was not annoying driving at 55 mph and tolerable. My dakota with flowmasters was louder and more obnoxious. I could hear my quiet talking girlfriend in the passenger seat as she screamed for a holy **** bar during acceleration tests as the kids in the back seat were giggling and encouraging me for more acceleration trials.

We all thought it was fairly quiet even my father thought it sounded better then my dakota when i was pulling into his driveway. Even during the acceleration blast in front of the house.

So far i would use dynomax again and leave the flowmasters on the shelf.
but i did notice after the 40 minute trip that the exhaust did sound a bit louder idling in the shop. So maybe the packing foam got burnt off?
:)

You talked me in to ordering a set for my Duster. It has newer Hooker Aerochambers on it that sound good, but it might be time for a change. Plus, Summit has them for $46 each after mail in rebate and free shipping.

Just put a new system on the duster 3" exhaust cut-out's right after the collectors into 3" h-pipe with 3" magna-flos into 2 1/2" tailpipes stock stainless tips..sounds great..had the dyno-max ultra-flos on a previous duster they sounded great too..

Perfect, I'd love to have that exact system on my BB Duster.
