too new here to have had the opportunity - but I've read this thread and several of his replies etc. on others, seems you are alone in your dissatisfaction so far...
...you're temper is the one thing you can't get rid of by loosing it...

I had the same problem as SuperStock. I called the part the wrong name but did send a picture of the correct part that I needed and was sent what I asked for, not what the picture was. I did contact Tony and got the same snappy reply “ I sent what you asked for” I offered to send it back at my expense, or just keep it with no refund and buy what I really needed. Granted this was a fair deal, “send whatever is fair for it” and he did send it. I pm’ed at least 20 plus times over a 6 week period and got nowhere, no reply or a “oh, I forgot, give me your info again”. I finally gave up, tired of being jerked around. Was going to post it then but figured his fan club would come to his side, just like now. I think he is only responding to SuperStock because he was called out on this forum otherwise he would still be jerking him around. And now he is getting back at him, calling him a ding dong and giving the part away for free and it really tells what kind of guy he is. He seems to sell parts for a living, it is all he post on this forum and you can see him on a t.v.show as a “Mopar expert.” He should ask questions and figure out what his customer wants but it seems he would rather ship part, any part, take your money and fight with you to figure out what you really needed and blame you for the whole misunderstanding.
My opinion and I know most won’t agree.

You are not making any sense at all. You say I sent you the wrong part but it was a fair deal, and then you say you offered to keep it and buy the correct part, but I blew you off for months?
Help me out with this...what was the part in question?...and what exactly did I do wrong?
Oh, and what TV show am I an expert on? I should probably get paid for something like that.

Tony sold me what he plainly offered. It was as described!

Unfortunately it was not as good as I hoped for, but It was as described and shipped on time.

Sometimes you take a chance but I can not fault Tony for what was sold and promptly delivered!

Used parts are often somewhat confused with new part expectations! These parts are quite old and often are much better than what we have. If you want original then that is what Tony provides.

I've purchased quite a few items from Tony, sometimes stuff happens and Tony has always been a stand up guy and taken care of it.

I don't recall what the part in question is/was, but if you're not happy with it, send it back. I never refuse a refund if it is reasonable and returned in the same condition as it was sent.

I have been here for years and never heard anything bad about him. He should have been contacted first before posting this thread and filing a claim. I have done the gifted PP thing as a buyer and seller and never had an issue.

I bought a million bucks worth of stuff on here, sold a bunch too. Feedback. Use it. I got a trim piece once from Tony and it was the wrong one, but was both our faults and we both worked it out offline. We actually spoke on the phone. Used parts are just that...used. They don't break on a shelf. They will when you put them into use. Roll those dice. Case in point were the redone heads that just destroyed my stroker. The stress crack in the neck of the valve would have been near impossible to see. I assumed new valves but they were cleaned and checked when port work was done. I did not say install new valves. Was I upset? Yes. Can I really hold the guy accountable? No. Did we talk like respectful adults? yep

You didn't hear about the guy I sold a fender to that found a couple of pinholes in it after he had it blasted and then refused to return it after I offered him a complete refund including the cost of shipping?..because I was a bad seller.
I thought everybody saw that thread..it went on forever.

It was set of hood hinges and my body/paint guy would not use them! To much play for him, so I got a rebuilt set from S&S. Never saw them myself just took his word on it.

Needless to say the driver side hinge from S&S still wants to bind, just like my original did!

Oh, and I should add, I NEVER request that a buyer send money as Friend and Family. When they ask me if I want that, I always tell them no, I'm cool with the fees because they protect you if I should fall off the earth.

Communication goes both ways!! If I need a part, I try to clearly explain what it is I need and what I am using it for! I usually ask for a pic or 2, and when I'm selling I always offer to send a pic or 2 to make sure that both I and the buyer are clear on what it is that we both need or have! Sounds like the OP didn't do that on the caliper bracket, and didn't even message Tony about the bearing retainer!! Communication, and courtesy, go a long way when trying to resolve issues over the web, what is typed can sometimes be misconstrued, so give as much information as possible, and try to be as courteous and cordial as possible when a problem arises!! It would have solved this problem before a knee jerk thread was started!!

Yes, I have bought from Tony, and yes, I have talked to him and his wife through here and Facebook....nice people who would certainly go the distance to make things right, IMO, buyers need to do the same!!!

That's fine...go grab them from your body guy and fire them back to me and I'll take care of it.

I think Tony should chill and just do the right thing. Take the stupid C-body
brackets back. Being a resident parts seller & expert here he has to know
the guy wasn't looking for that bracket and knew which ones he wanted.
I would have known and I believe he did too.
Then on top of that sending a broken retainer. Come on. Then comes on here
and says he won't help the guy on none of it because he's mad that he posted about it.
I completly understand why the guy is not happy and Tony should not be mad because
he got called on the deal.
We don't need this BS here and he didn't need that kind of help from a parts supplier on his project. Do the right thing or peddle somewhere else as far as I'm concerned.
YOU HAD TO KNOW and if you didn't its no reason to cheat the guy.

Go back and read that post again carefully. I told him they were C Body brackets going in. When he told me they would not work, I offered the complete spindles. When he declined, I sent his money back. There was zero run around.
You have to understand that I sell parts to some guys who chop, adapt, modify parts to their specific needs. There is no way going in to know what he is going to use them for unless he tells me.
Besides the point, I refunded him right away.
Today's fiasco...I sent him a cracked retainer. Ooops, my fault, sorry.
But he DID NOT TELL ME THAT. He filed a claim and started this thread. It's a combination of balls and ignorance seldom seen in my world.
So. He filed a claim, he can get paid through that claim...I won't dispute it.

It may be just my opinion but I think this thread has run its course. No need for name calling. Points have been made on both sides. I have no dog in this fight but feel for the good of the board any other comments might be better served in a PM mode. Thanks.

You can claim ignorance if you feel the need to but don't leave the guy screwed.
Those brackets and cracked retainer arn't worth the return shipping cost.
I have stood up for you before on other post that have come up like this.
But I believe you knew better than to even box these parts up and did it anyway.

I'm not playing ignorant, and the bracket thing happened over a year ago...and he got refunded! Over a year ago!!! There was never any run around! He doesn't even accuse me of giving a run around...go back and READ it.
The retainer? I screwed up
If he had messaged me even once about it, there would be another on its way to him right now. He never told me about it, just started this thread.
He never even gave me a chance to be a bad guy!

Tony does this for a living. As such, he does it all the time, constantly. How many of yall have made mistakes at your job?

The cracked retainer was an honest mistake. Read post #9. The guy started this thread started a Paypal claim BEFORE he contacted Tony. I would do the same as Tony. Let Paypal handle it. Tony will be paying Paypal and Paypal will return the money to the buyer.

That's what Paypal's buyer protection is all about. The buyer is bein a prick. I wouldn't lift a finger to help him, either.

Tony's not perfect, as none of us is. We've see problems pop up and seen him handle them. He's offered right here in this thread to make one or two deals good. Sounds like it was the first he heard of those and he's doin the right thing.

I've dealt with him before. He's a good guy. End of story.
