My local exhaust shop wanted to charge me $800-$900 for a dual setup for my 67 cuda. I told hem i would provide all the correct hangars, and manifold flanges.

Car is in the mockup stage and will be a roller with complete drivetrain installed. All they would need to do is bend, fit, weld u p the pipes, and install flowmasters 40s

Then i checked out accurate exhaust, and i can do it all for about $650 or so minus mufflers. And nobody else monkeying around w my car. 2.50" 14 gage aluminized steel pipes. This still seemd pricy, but is a little less so, and has the advantage of nobody else working on your car.

I am thinking accurate exhaust is the ticket for me

Did you see the kit summit has? The price is right and it is 2.5 and thick pipe.

jegs has some nice kits. they are made for headers but you can easily fab a piece that goes from the manifold to the start of the kit if you don't have headers. Everything else is already done for over the wheel and back and some kits include welded chamber mufflers and all for a lot cheaper than accurate or your shop.

the 2.5 mufflers sound great too.

way too high, do it yourself.

I'm looking for correct head pipes and tailpipes for my 383 GTS. I remember a guy from Ohio that bent stock pipes for Mopars, I saw at the Nats or Carlisle. In fact, I bought pipes for a 68 Road Runner I restored from him. Just added my own choice of mufflers and bolted it up. Perfect. I just Researched and think I found him. I sent him a message about my needs. He is Don's Custom Exhaust in Ohio. Google him, you'll find it.

I bought a 2.5" Pypes stainless system with race pro mufflers for 350 shipped. They have a life time warranty too. I'm changing the motor this weekend so I'll have the exhaust on soon. There are to many better options today to bother going to exhaust shops anymore.

Have you looked at TTI. I used there exhaust kit on three cars now and they fit like a glove. Reasonable priced and sound great. I think they have the best muffler hangers. Good quality stuff. That's what I'm gonna use on my '67 Cuda. I just gotta see or figure a way to mate it to my Dougs headers.

Bought the Jegs 2.5 inch muffler-less exhaust for around 214$. Was well worth it, had it installed in a few hours.

Problem is, Not many vendors for Stock, original bent head pipes to use with factory exhaust manifolds.

Mitch, no local exhaust places to make the pipes up for you?

I got a Message in to that guy Don in Ohio. I think he will e less expensive. I remember paying around $100 each for the correct head pipes for the RR.

Find a mexican muffler shop. They will do it for a 3rd of that. I would bring my own X or H pipe though. We have a Vasquez and sons here and they beat pretty much everyone on everything and they don't mess around.

Exactly. I had to cut the factory y pipe down past the 90* bends then rig up some flex pipe on them to get it back to where the dual exhaust kit takes over (near trans crossmember). Pretty sketchy but should get the job done till its time for headers.

My system cost $700.00 installed 3" aluminized h-pipe w/dumps 3"stainless mufflers into 2 1/2 aluminized tailpipes with factory like stainless tips w/stainless band clamps..all bent the way I wanted it..

I have a good exhaust guy near me that custom bends pipe and is reasonably priced...

Are you close to Worth, IL???

labor....those prebent systems are all computer bent: lay the straight pipe in the receiver and the machine gobbles it up and CNC bends it to a pattern. Your not paying a dude $70 an hour to crush bend pipes with a hydraulic press. We got plenty of Latino muff shops here and they are hit and miss. I had a transverse motor exhaust system welded up and he tack welded the hanger to the frame, NO RUBBER! the head pipe cracked in about 3 days as it was taking the torque off the motor mounts.

The Summit kit sounds like a great idea, however i still need headpipes as i am running 68 340 exhaust manifolds. So i still got to deal with a local shop for this part. I may have to concider this.

Call Tom Swope at Accurate Exhaust. He will make any part of exhaust you need and it will fit like a sock on a rooster for a reasonable price

Did accurate on my cuda and it fit perfectly, cut nothing! Also tom made me a down tube from my exhaust manifolds back to my summit duel exhaust on my dart. Top notch guys.
