Keep bugging Hayden about it. The more people that contact them, the more likely they'll mass produce them. Last I heard, They were considering adding material to the water pump mount flange so the bolts don't overhang. But like I said, people need to keep bugging them so they'll make them available. The one I have works great.
 
I have a fan, I just need the clutch. The above link only shows a fan package.

Hayden has a shorter fan clutch in development. We married the 2765 shaft to the 2747, but saw the need for a larger shaft mounting surface than what the 2765 offered. Since then we have tooled a new shaft and are working on producing units and releasing the data to our customers to in turn offer to the classic car crowd. There is no firm release date at this time as our engineering team wants to put the clutch through all of the appropriate life cycle testing.

Just a quick update. Looks like Hayden started putting these into production. I just got an email from them saying"

"Hayden is pleased to announce the release of the low profile Hayden fan clutch 2947 for classic cars with space limitations. Please see attached flyer for details. Said clutch is available at SummitRacing here."

I checked the specs and it looks like they've increased the OD of the water pump mount as well so the bolts won't over-hang. Looks like Rock Auto has them for $51.75 for those interested.

Thanks man. I made the jaguar one work by bushing the pilot hole to water pump. But I order one of there new ones now.

That's the one I use. It works great! I can't fit a 18 inch fan in my '67 shroud so I had to go with a 17".

If you can fit an 18" fan Hayden 3618 or Derale 17118 will work. Looks like the flexalite 5718 has a steel hub and aluminum blades. Not sure I'd be comfortable with that one. Flexalite 5717 is their 17" version. Hayden doesn't have a 17" fan for that clutch. There are a slough of 19" fan as well.
 
i measured my shroud yesterday and could maybe fir an 18" fam but its close. think i'm better off with a 17"

this note is under the Hayden 3618 specs..
"Notes:For use with standard duty fan clutches only. Not for use on engines over 250 cubic inch."

not sure what thats all about..


the Derale 17117 doesn't list any limitations. we shouldn't be turning th emotor so high. probably go with that one then.
 
I am using the 5 blade Mopar performance fan blade... this one has a huge PITCH
2.5 inch + together with a severe duty fan clutch this set up makes a Hurricane!
Never passing the 185 deg..... with a 180°F thermostat.... never

does any one sell the fan blade? it seems that they don't sell the viscous setup any more
 
I am using the Jag clutch with the Mopar Performance 5 blade fan. I have used this set up with zero problems over 4 seasons. The 5 blade fan moves air and is a bit lighter than the standard Mopar 7 blade clutch fan. I purchased the Mopar 5 blade fan from Mancini Racing. I will switch to the new clutch when the Jag clutch fails. It appears Mancini Racing does not sell the fan anymore, but Summit has Dorman 620-054, which is published as a direct replacement for the Mopar 5 blade fan.

I attempted to locate the Mopar 5 blade fan for you at Summit since it appears it is no longer available at Mancini Racing. I found the Dorman product when searching 5 blade mechanical fans. Go to Dorman.com and reference the product number: Dorman Products - 620-054. As mentioned the fan moves a lot of air and is lighter than the 7 blade fan. You should get four or fives seasons out of the clutch. My car stays cool, even on hot 90 degree days in traffic. Temperature is around 180 degrees. I can idle in hot temperatures for a long time before the temperature reaches 205. Great set up.
