Valiant owner finally !!

Yep,they never badged any US Valiant as a GT,the GT is a Dart thing. They did make that drivetrain combo though. The 67 pilot car with that combo that azmopar has isn't branded a GT and that was the promo car for Valiants. I have been a Valiant guy for 20+ years and have done more research than the avg Joe on Valiants and I have never seen or heard of one. If it exists I'd like to see one.

Well you know more about them than I do for sure. I don't doubt what your saying. I guess I assumed it was a GT, but like I said it was a long time ago. What I can remember was it was a green color with Red interior. I wound up trading it for a 66 GTO 389 4 speed convertible. Another car I wish I had back.

I'm tired but I just wanted to share that I got what I wanted after a year of looking.
I''get more pics up tomorrow, but for now here she is, 67 valiant 100 170 /6 3 on the tree bare bones car. Dirty as hell and had to drag it out of the sellers back yard.

I saw that one on Craigslist™ and was tempted, but since I just picked up a 1968 Valiant myself. Happy that we both have black plate cars.
Congrats!

This is the first car I had to consult on and it was all through emails, texts and phone calls and 2000 miles away. I feel like the Galen Govier of Valiant sedans lol

Thats why your the sedanman. Thanks for the help Chuck

Top of line Dart is a GT.
Top of the line Valiant is a Signet . Spelling ?

Cool car ! I'd love to have one also.

The 67 Valiant you could order a 273 4bbl,4 spd 8 3/4 and all of the other options but they had no special badging. The 68 you could order a 318 4bbl,4spd and so on and also no special badging. There may have been a commando engine emblem. A guy here ordered a 68 Valiant new and wanted the Cuda 340 drivetrain but they wouldn't let him because that was a Cuda/Dart option only. But they let him order it with a 318 4bbl,4spd,8 3/4 with disc brakes and 4 doors and I didn't see any special badging on that one either. The Valiant has always been the Bastard of the a bodies and everyone always overlooked them for every other car body and it's still that way. If your curious, take a look at all the other build/resto threads and see the difference in pages/comments left on the other car bodies. It's night and day. The 67-up Valiant sedans share the same 108 WB as a Cuda so the driveline swaps right in and the valiant is the lightest and strongest of the A body line being a post car and unless your adding a big cube torque monster BB you don't really need to add frame ties, the factory did that for us by adding the post. The Valiant sedans do require a little more homework/research when looking for parts because 30% of it is sedan only and most aftermarket companies just sell parts and do very little research on what bodies their parts actually interchange with. IF you can't find something I can take the guess work out of it for you and send you in the right direction. I have been messing with 67-9 Valiants for 20 + years and my name will eventually pop up if your looking for something. I am always happy to help

And now he's the proud owner of a 4 sp.

So I was able to get a couple buddies to help me semi gut the interior.
Found this tag behind the back seat. Pretty cool. Floor pan is shot.

The wiper seals were non existent. LOL Other than the floor rot everything else looks good
Manual column shifter is not working. Something is broken inside. Since the floor pan needs replaced we bypassed the column shifter, cut a hole in the floor and bolted on 2 pcs of angle iron to the tranny shift levers. Ghetto I know but I can move it around now. I have a 4 speed on the way anyways.
