Stirring up a hornets nest

That is so true. As I stated before I have no intention of changing as long as mine runs well. It is a commando 273 which for that period was considered a high performance model.it will take me around the places I want to go
For the most part, I'm talking about trips of 10 miles or so.
Thanks again for your comments

GM People.

I posted back on this thread a few pages ago. This am while drinking my coffee I was catching up and amazed how far it has come. I enjoyed the few licence plate pictures and the custom ones and not trying to steal this tread just wanted to add mine to the mix.
Happy Memorial Day Veterans!

Here's my plate....
I'm very happy with my 273-4 powered Angry cuda (as I call it)... The exhaust note always has peeps thinking it's Bigger then it is... Even some of my friends think it is a 340... But I assure you, it's Still the original 273 Commando... It's all I need at my age!!!!
And... Happy Memorial Day!!! My thoughts go out to Veterans and their families who know... Freedom is not Free⚓

Beautiful car! The cut out valances on the 65's ar really a nice touch. The late model Dodge (Ram) trucks are the same style with the cut out for the tail pipe. I am so impressed with that design I am tempted to put a 65 bumper and valance on my 66. If I could just figure out what to do with the back up lights. It would be kind of a Chip Foose look. You could tell that something was changed but you just can't figure what. tmm

I like the valance on my 65. Looks strange when you see one with duals out the back with one valance cut out and one nit.

.... Enjoy the 273, heck...all engines are getting smaller now anyhow!
I drive a 92 Lexus SC400 with a 4.0l Quad cam V8. That little V8 is 240cid but has 250HP/260tq at the wheels and that thing flies if you manually shift it, and it just keeps revving. And you CAN balance a nickle on its intake while its idling. ITs got a super balance from the factory and MPEFI.

I have a jaguar with a V 6 that is very fast. Technology today is much better than my 50 year old Barracuda, I love the simplicity of the 273 commando compared to the modern ones that I have to take to the garage. Spark plugs for the jaguar cost 16.95 each as well. I enjoy the jag, but love my Barracuda. Drive the jag. And no one pays any attention
Drive the Barracuda and people notice and always have questions.

yup. It takes me about 2 hours to change plugs in that SC. The spark plug covers are captive under about 3 layers of plastic covers. Dumb design of a $400 million R/D effort. I wonder what the MAF EFI off that SC would do on that 273?

I could handle the plastic covers
you have to remove the top of the engine in the jaguar to get to an oxygen sensor that goes out every year just before the inspiration is due. Average cost around 800
I can hardly wait to get my barracuda finished and drive it more.

No race, just for cruising.
Thanks for your thoughts

Well guys, my neighbor with the road runner just came home from the strip on a rollback. Oil everywhere
apparently when you throw a rod and it comes through the side of the block, it doesn't hold the oil in
ha ha. Guess he want be smoking his tires beside my house for a while.
