I sent a member on here money for a part that was advertised in the trading section, and never received the part. I've tried multiple IM's, and even tried sending an email to their private address (based on info from paypal). Because I paid using the "family and friends" feature on paypal, paypal will not get involved, or does not resolve disputes using this method of transferring money (Of course, I didn't know that at the time). Just looking to find out the best, and appropriate way to post to all on this site for maximum exposure to make other members aware, and if there is anything else I can do to nail this stooge.

Thanks

PM him a link to this thread. The next bunch of replies are going to vary from "What's his name?" to "How long has it been?" to "Sometimes life takes a turn" etc, etc. If he sees the thread he "may" respond "if" he cares about his name here.

Don't want to disclose his name.... yet. Its been nearly 2 months since I sent him money. He claimed it was sent out once, and the post office returned it because the "box was messed up". Yeah, I thought it could be something serious, like a health issue or something, but dayum...... at least make an effort to respond... (that is if he can.....). I'll send him the link now. Thanks man.

Watch, it'll be someone we already know about. :D
You do know distance doesn't matter right?
The authorities in his area are just as responsible to investigate as if he lived next door, and all you have to do is remind them of it.
Sometimes you have to remind their captain, or even DA's office.

If it comes to that.

If all this is true, the waiting is over. It's time to get "on" this. Keep this thread updated, and if he won't cooperate, "out" him. Unless you are in Bangledesh and he's in deep dark Nigeria, 2 months is LONG ENOUGH

Well I hope you've learned about Paypal. I simply add the amount they charge the seller and send it as "buying goods." And........I use a credit card to source the PayPal funds. You REALLY have to watch your *** on this because they ALWAYS want to access your bank account. I have not figured a way yet to "default" it to credit card. And, I don't use my main checking account. I have a separate checking account just for PayPal with a minimal amount in there, about a hnnerd bucks.

Good stuff man. Yeah, I thought about the seperate account also. Smart move. Ill out the stooge here shortly.....stay tuned.

Hate to say it, but it's 50% your fault. You're the one who used the friends and family option, when that was NOT the case. That's why Paypal uses two different forms to pay with. One for business and one for personal. This was business. With a stranger. Over the internet.

Well hopefully, it's not the or er something!
never send $ as a gift, you have no buyer protection at all! I have received $ as a gift, and it was his idea, but won`t send it. course I know I`m going to do the buyer right .

in consideration of the strangeness of the seller being unusually absent - I caution you to tread lightly with a call out - I think Joey it hinting that there very well may be an extenuating circumstance here... I have seen a couple guys "eat their words" on here after bitching about a transaction and then discovering the truth of the matter... tough situation on both sides it seems.

Though true extenuating circumstances do occur that are legit. I venture to say the opposite happens way more often. Honesty, credibility , and a sense of fairness are fleeting traits in man kind. This has become more true since we got away from a penal system and embraced the bullshit idea that there is good in everyone and we can rehabilitate anyone! Sorry I digress.

fair enough - but for the most part the people on here are straight shooters - so I tend to expect and hope the answers to this kind of thing are less ill willed in nature

I lean more towards the bullshit side when these problems arise. And most cases have proved me right that have come up here on FABO and other sites. Even the ones that start out as "real family emergencies" have been found not to be true but an excuse a lot of low life's live behind. Hey if I wrong I'll be the first to apologize, time will tell

fair enough my friend - and I am certainly not disagreeing with you - plenty of chitheads out there for sure - mostly I was cautioning OP about throwing the seller under the bus before being SURE

That is because you see the glass as half full, I see it as half empty. I bet I get burned less than you do? Maybe has to do with 33 years as a F/F and having to listen to why I'm at your house at 2 AM taking care of POS when their drug deal went bad, or why the babies daddy beat you half to death and busted a cap in your ***. Sorry, I'm off to take my meds! lol
