Nice building I wish you the best of luck, build them Mopars it looks like you have a nice test patch.

Every journey starts with the first step.
You've already taken yours.
Good luck.

30 miles east of Eugene? Looks like it could be in Dexter? I've been up and down that road a few times and there are places like that on that road. Should be a fun project if you have plenty of gumption and grit. Easy to get overwhelmed on a project like that so a little help from some friends goes a long ways.

Ah, just saw your other post on the property being in Unity. That is a bit off the beaten path for sure! I've never even headed out of town on that road, didn't even know it existed.

Andy,

It definitely is off the beaten path, but I grew up there so i know the area well. Its the only road to goes up to Fall Creek Reservoir. It is a heavily traveled road for individuals going to the camp grounds, logging, and boating.

Congrats, when I was a teenager. My family had a Mom and Pop store with a garage attached, had a single pole lift. You could put the car on and literally spin around 360 degrees. It was a cool time in my life. I wish you the best.

Congrats, I love the story, that's close to our retirement home in Tangent. I'll be sure to look you up when we go out to Eugene at Xmas to see the grandkids.

Yes it is the old Arco on the way up to the dam. It is right outside the town of Lowell. I might put on a drive in night, I would like to promote community involvement.

congrats and kudos for having b**** enough to do what makes you happy in this short life!

sounds like you have the knowledge, experience, and equipment to be a success!!

would be cool if you can repair the bldg. and leave it somewhat vintage looking!!???

I have been debating whether to use metal siding or make it look older with hardie board lap siding. Metal is definitely cheaper and I have just enough to cash to repair the roof, rewire, and install metal siding.

Every Gear Head's dream,,no matter how old you are !! Very cool.

Well it has been a while since I made an update. My wife and I sold our house in california and I quit my cushy federal employee position. We officially move up to oregon. I started repairing the building and replaced the rotten wood and roof decking. I am in the process of scheduling the roofers to come in and install the new roofing material. Next on the list is new metal siding and having the building rewired. I will post a few pictures in the next couple days.

Kyle.

Throw up a few "progress" photos once in awhile!!! Hope it comes out good for you

And if you want to have some fun......get on Garage Journal.com and ask what size PVC air lines you should run! LOL. Congrats on the new venture!

Here are a few recent pictures of the building. I got half the building finished. I had 400 amps of power installed. I am receiving the new trusses for the 30x36 part of the building this monday. Weather permitting i will get the trusses and decking installed. I also set up my cnc plasma.
