My family is getting into this old sport. We have a 40' track we take to events. Is there anyone else interested in these? This is one of our modified valve covers. .

We have about 18 for adult use, 30 for kid use. As you would guess the kid versions a little more indestructible. I'll post a few of the kid versions later.

Working on a Fire Dome Hemi racer. Conveyor belt wheels, skate board wheels, machined billet wheels, lexan wheels. Imagination, check rules where ever you race. Wheels must not exceed the flange of the cover in most cases. Taller ones rub the rail and slow them down. If you notice my taller ones I have machined fenders to allow no rail rub... Some have four wheels, others only three. We also race oil pans.

where the heck is this post listed? I started the thread in "General" I can only find it in my content. .

It says at the top it's in the general discussion forum

I saw that when I go to forums, scroll to General not there. No worries thanks, I'm old

As you can tell I'm not a check writer, built not bought. . . It's a hobby that takes up no room. . It helps to be a machinist.

Looks like a scaled-up Pinewood Derby - our Scout troop used to run a "Dirty Derby" with very few rules, but had to limit weight (someone brought a car made from a piece of railway rail - scary when it hit the stop box), require 3 wheels (someone entered a shot put), etc. The ever evolving track had various obstacles, jumps, etc. (and they finally added the flaming wall under the jump last year) and it was usually a matter of 'the car that makes it the farthest down the track wins', rather than who gets to the finish line first.

Found a couple of photos that show what the track looked like about 6 years ago, and some of the cars the Cub Scouts entered
