Was at E-town this past weekend making my 3rd time trial run got to the top end oil pressure went to ZERO car just shut off..got it back home found the distributor gear drive had snap off in the oil pump(oil pump sieze??) will be pulling engine out this weekend to determine extent of damage..always something:(:(:(

that sucks ! look on the bright side, you will probably make it better and faster. at least you know what your project is this winter.
just make sure it's fun !

Did you have the stock one or the MP one with the beefed up shaft????

oh snap (pun intended) bud! it really is always something.. sucks!! hope there's no other pain! how did you do though?

Car was running good couple of passes in the 11.80's which is good considering the heat and the fact the car just usually run as quick down there then it does up here..

Winter.. that ***** is coming out this Sunday with any luck i'll be up and running in a few weeks..

I'd use it for a boat anchor..... and get a 318
I wouldn't show up to the dragway with a car that wouldn't make 3 passes

The engine has 5 seasons on it..and theres not a 318 ANYWHERE that i know of that'll touch it..besides 318's don't make enough power to break anything:lol::lol::lol:

That sucks sideways, no oil is never good. But never say never, there is a guy over on moparts that runs 11.70's with his 318, oh wait it's a 323, in a duster street car.

Let me get this straight. You lost oil pressure and the end stop at the same time?
If that's the case, you have a ground up intermediate "gear" not a broken oil pump drive.

Pull the dist before you pull the eng.............well i guess it don't matter, got to be pulled apart anyways.
Edit
sorry re read your first post. You have already pulled the intermediate shaft:BangHead:

Alrighty i've never seen this before..the screen on the pick-up tube somehow came off, metal got into the oil pump seizing it up luckily it stop pumping oil so just about all the metal was in the bottom of the pan, need to disassemble and check EVERYTHING out..time for that cam and spring upgrade and a few other little things i've been wanting to do,with any luck i should be up and racing in a few weeks..

Sorry to hear about stuff like that, hope you can get it back together in time for a few more races.
