Professional Products 80012: Powerforce Harmonic Damper Small Block Chrysler/Mopar 318/340/360 | JEGS

Read the description, comes with weights for externally balanced engines, says will work with 1993-1997 360 engines, but NOT 360 MAGNUM engines.
Shane,relax... If running a Magnum,as an LA belt setup, your good....Add the proper weight, good to go ,on a stock 360 assembly. The company, posted it that way, because of the stick mopar year to year balancer changed..If YOU,run a traditional LA up front setup,(v belt...) Simply ask questions, like I did...I like this balanc

YES ,IT DOES... are you going to run the original serpentine setup ..? Or the traditional V8 LA setup? The reason for the Proffesional Products quote: Some years of Magnums, came with balancer, pulley setup ,in one piece

Im running the LA front case, but was told my stock MAGNUM balancer will work. Not my LA balancer. I'm just lost as it specifically says not 93-97 Magnum engines. Mine is a 97, the dampener stock comes apart. Dosent make sense to me.

I'll run the LA front case, and V belt. And for now, the stock magnum balancer, with the LA pulley bolted to it.

Jegs is on crack....What they say doesnt make sense...what it should say is wont work on 2002-2003 5.9 Magnums because they had one piece cast pulley/balancer combo, which would work, but only if you got a removable pulley from an earlier magnum.
The deal is LA360 and 5.9 magnum use different weight due to LA having heavier pistons. You cannot use an LA 360 on a magnum because balance would be off. We use PRW balancer which is the same piece as PP is selling, but it comes with 3 weights so you dont have to but extra one. If you are using LA V pulleys, keep magnum balancer and run your V pulleys on it....no problemo.

Exactly my thoughts! Went against everything I've heard! I'm lost enough how it is. Lol

I know, thread is old.... but I have a question to PRW balancer.
PRW-2331841
PRW told me I have to use the medium size weight on my 1979 360LA.
But if I check any other balancers with changeable weights, they say I have to use the big weight for this engine.

Shaun Snow from PRW sent me this email to my question:
"The weight that comes installed is for the 360LA, the small one is for the 340 with forged crank and the largest is for the Magnum engines"

So can anybody help me with this.....
I live in germany and there are very few Mopar-Guys arround to ask.

Regards, Eckhard :)

Smallest one is supposed to be 340 with cast crank. Forged crank 340 does not use a weight.
Heaviest weight should be 360 LA engines, which take a bunch of weight.
Middle weight is Magnum 5.9 engines. These take less weight than LA engines.

Should say also, you'll know if it's wrong right away, but it won't cause damage unless you rev the crap out of it while it's shaking. If it's vibrating, try the heavier weight.
I would just weigh my LA weight but I won't be home for a few days.

Hi and thank you.

Exactly what I thought.
Nevertheless, I hope the PRW balancer is good.
So I will install the big weight.

Thank you Bobzilla and regards from lake Constance :)
