Seat belt suggestions

What make and model of vehicle that can readily be found in most Pick N Pull yards are good donors for three point retractable seatbelts with little modifications? Thinking I'll have a few days to go do some yard hopping over the Holidays and Seat belts are on my list of items to look out for. If there's some of you that have already gone through the pain of testing and fitting later model belts to your car and it could save me some time, please share what you used.

they're for a 72 Duster, with aftermarket buckets. No rear seat.

I went with a company called Seat belt PLante out in Oklahoma city OK Talk to mike mills, he took my old lap/shoulder (the old two buckle design)belts from my scamp and made modern three point belts using the buckles and toungs so they are modern but look like they belong instead of aftermarket GM style hardware (yuck)
 
I forgot to mention i did have to add a new mounting plate straight down from the shoulder belt mount hole along the rocker to mount the retractor but they have the mount plates for sale as well, so overall not a quick job but its gets you modern seat belts and they have the correct look

I've never heard of them, but it sounds like a super great idea!! Would you mind sharing how much that cost?

About 300 bucks to rebuild the front two and also redo the rear three lap belts with new webbing (i went with a grey web material to have some contrast like some the new Challenger hellcats) which at the time was less than what a new set from one of the major aftermarket parts suppliers just for the front two
 
3 point belts from a 75 or 6 a-body might be more affordable but will be difficult to install.
Most common choice in the forum is Seat Belts
and less common but seen from time to time is alternate buckets with integrated belts ( Sebring maybe ).
 
XVengineering has some that are specific made for Mopars. They bolt right onto the original mounts and have a drop from the roof for the shoulder. Only 72 bucks per side, I really like them.
 
I have a question related to this, on the three point, you mean they are part of regular seat belts, Correct?? I have a separate shoulder harness attached above the rear window in a 66 Dart hard top, and was wondering where to install my stowage plate? Thanks

Not sure about a 66, I've never worked on anything older than 69. The way these work is there is one mount that fastens to the roof shoulder bolt and a double piece that mounts to the floor bolt with the recoil built into it. So you get a 3 point mount with just the 2 bolts.

Thanks for the picture, 66's never had the shoulder belt, this is a modification. The shoulder belt is not attached to the seat belt, it is stand alone. I was looking at where yours is also, and maybe above the front door next the visor, has anyone done that?? Thanks again....

Freezerman, are those belts from XV engineering? How big is the retractor assembly at the floor?

Yes, they are. The recoil is approximately 3" square. The width is more like 3.5". Very unobtrusive, I really like them.

Sorry about that. Not too good at this computer stuff. This is the clearance I have for a retractor if you can see it. I have a set of XV belts that I bought several years ago but the retractor assembly is much bigger and I have determined that it just won't fit. Do you know of any other source where I may look for these?

No, I don't. But you might measuring to close to the front of the car and too high. I had bench seats in my car, I put in buckets. The recoil isn't any bigger than the factory one was.
