Does anyone have any pictures of the rear window defoggers system on a 1967-69 Barracuda Fastback?
 
There was a nos setup listed in the for sale section with in the last few days.
 
I would but cuda is stored away for winter. "Vent" is mounted on pass side. What looks like a speaker grille is the air "intake". Also mounted on pass side. If.that helps any?
Mine was a dealer installed option. Works like crap lol
 
Yes. You get into a cold car with a cold rear window. The defogger draws air from just below the window, which is at approximately the same temperature, and blows it back onto the window. No wonder it is not very effective. Even a small electrical heater in the unit would have helped, but I guess the designers did not want to tax the battery.

I looked at the for sale post and mines different. It came out of a cuda fb going to the scrapers in the late 70's. It didn't have the flexible duct, the fan outlet was connected directly to the plastic outlet which put the inlet grill up high just under the outlet. I dont know which is correct now. I do know you needed the wiring in the kit (seems to be a resistance wire) or you don't get two speeds.

With respect to wiring, I'm not sure these units are all alike. But in mine, you can look in the discharge opening of the fan and see the "speed reduction" resistor. So all you need to do is run two wires from a switch with 2 outputs to get 2 speeds.

I`ve got one , I intend to put in one of these days. thinking I`m going to get the intake air from some place else than the speaker opening. already have an unused, switched wire laying back there, from when I rewired the car. the rear compartment separator is alum. sheet on the back side (nhra battery in trunk deal) . ANY SUGGESTIONS ??
 
To famous bob: I bought my unit off this site and I didn't get the inlet grille, so I'm in the same situation you are. I plan on mounting it behind the rear seat, but in front of the trunk separator. That little fan probably only delivers about 25 CFM, so air can infiltrate around the rear seat to get to the fan. The trunk separator and floor panels need be sealed. IMO, this would be quieter and free up the back shelf for two stereo speakers.

never thot of putting it in the inside. mine is a fastback, business coupe deal, no rear seat. All finished in black. guess a guy could build some sort of nice interior box or what ever to dress it up. probly be next spring before I get to it, too stinking cold for me now!! did order some new coil over shock nuts and wrench, and a new platinum safety harness, it`s about the same color as the stripes in my seats. "does it never end?" still would like to replace my tail light lenses, and door handles. the door handles are the worst looking part on my car.
