Removing glove box badge

Howdy all!

I'm rebuilding my 1967 Dodge Dart 270 (slant 6 225cid). While I'm waiting for the body to get back from being blasted and the engine to return from being bored, I'm taking care of some odds and ends. Among other things, I'm prepping the dash for paint. Pictured is the glove box door.

Am I able to remove the "Dart 270" badge in such a way that I can easily reinstall it? The "nuts" on the back are 5/16", but they only spin in place. I don't want to pry them off unless you all tell me that it's OK to do so. Any ideas?

I have taken these off with a putty knife pushed under the nut with just slight pressure, and turned them off with a nut driver. Hope that helps a little....
