A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

-
Pictures of the new Winters Performance aluminum Dana 60 differential with Strange axles for the silver Hemi Duster. This will complete the aluminum intensive drivetrain in this car which already includes an aluminum Griffin radiator, an all aluminum 426 Hemi, a Passon aluminum cased A833 4 speed trans, an aluminum Gear Vendors O.D. and an aluminum Denny's drive shaft. Note: the ends won't be welded on until the 4-link brackets & shock mounts are slid on to the axle tubes.

This rearend, which is rated for 1500 HP and contains a 4.56 ring and pinion, was held up for a couple of months due to Winters designing an supplying it's own proprietary center section after deeming that a Tru-Trac wasn't strong enough.

You might recognize the Winters name as a major supplier of quick change rearends over the years for midgets, sprint cars, champ cars and street rods. Winters also offers complete rearend packages for stock cars such as ARCA and NASCAR.

Nice. I'm surprised that the housing doesn't use a,back brace.

Excellent fine, I know how valuable your time but yet you take time out of your busy day to research HIGH and LOW for very important information for us Deplorables :) Thank you Big Kahuna

does this mean you're gonna bump up the horsepower of the all aluminum 426 Hemi closer to 1500 HP? how much fun would that be when you go get coffee?

....maybe he is working on 1/18 Flash ......where he has a vested interest.

Is this for me????....cause I hardly have time to sneeze

hey John, i just got the new e-mail from Supercar Collectibles and it made me wonder how you're coming on making an 1/18th version of Denny's Duster? done? cancelled? back-burner?
No change. On deck but the deck isn't moving.

At least another year hiatus while the house, shop, Leal car and the brown car are in line.

he has a 1/18 Flash, don't think it's the same vintage as the one you guys are restoring.....but there is a picture of it after he tubbed it at 'Ye Old Coffee Pot'

Those are both the earlier a Pro Stock cars.....the one John and I have is the 1975 B/MP factory Direct Connection car

Nice Dana
With all that aluminum I wonder what the Duster will weigh
This aluminum Dana is supposed to weigh about 10 lbs more than a comparably equipped 8-3/4.

I'm interested in the total too. I believe between 3,000 and 3,100 lbs. What about it Denny?

The 4.30 Sure Grip 8-3/4 rear with Moser axles which is coming out will be used in the
"brown car" which will be an automatic.

Gorgeous ride young man.

Sorry I went with a competitor's suspension products through.

No worries from me.....I prefer to be more of a fellow hot rodder with the motto.....what works best for you is always the right choice. In the HDK sponsored tent at the Mopar Nats, we never care what suspension you have....just that it is a cool Mopar.
