After the success of the show last year, the group is very optimistic that the event will be even bigger and better than last year. Mark the calendar for Friday and Saturday, May 12th and 13th for another awesome weekend in Chattanooga, TN. The show will kickoff with a cruise from the base site at Camp Jordan to the Coker museum for a luncheon. After the get together at the Coker facility, you will be able to cruise down to Brainerd Dragstrip for match races between eight Super Stock cars featuring Herb McCandless, Mike Buckle, Dick Jones and others. Local grudge races will be ran as well for anyone wanting to bring their car out. Then on Saturday, cars from throughout the South East will be heading to Chattanooga for a day of fun. A barbecue lunch will be available. Attached is a link to the show's web site and Face Book site. If anyone has any questions, please drop Ken Meredith a call or an email. Mopar MoParty Picnic on May 12th & 13th East Ridge TN

Sounds like fun!

I may consider going but have committed for GRHOF on the 27th. It would nice if some other Mopars would commit to GRHOF that weekend. I was planning to head south for R&R but will stay. Does that site in Chattanooga have room for trailers?

The Camp Jordan complex is a huge sporting complex off of the East Ridge Exit. From my understanding, there is plenty of parking for spectators and trailers.
We have signed on with JW and Angela Hames of Hames Restoration as a sponsor of the show. At this time, they will be bringing there Gold award winning MCACN 69 383 4 speed Dart.
If anyone is needing for us to bring any restoration products or supplies to the show, please let us know to save you on the shipping.
If anyone is familiar with the Chrysler Crazies show that was held back at the Honest Charley's location in the late 80s can appreciate the quality of the show. Hopefully, the show can grow to be one of the premiere shows in the South East.

I will let you know as we still need to look at my trunk seal!

Gerald,
If you should see that your able to attend, let me know a day or two prior to the event so that I can bring the trunk weatherstrip. You will be able to see the seal and its fit on the 69 Dart.

Spectators, participants, racers, swap meet vendors are all welcomed. The proceeds go to the Cancer Society and I would love to have a premiere Mopar show here in our backyard that could become a major regional show for those in this area.

It would be great to have a large Mopar show close to home! I'll hopefully get to attend a show one day in my car. Mine is about to go on a rotisserie for upgrades and cleanup on the bottom side. I'm hoping by this time next year I can be getting it back together to get back on the road.

If I could make one suggestion.....please try to schedule this growing show in the future to a weekend where it doesn't conflict with Piedmont Mopar Clubs show at Farmington Dragway. I would love to come to Choo Choo town, but I don't want to miss Farmington. Hope you have a great and big show!

I agree that it stinks when you have two shows going up against each other. I will make the suggestion to Ken to look at the dates for the show next year as they are already working on the show for next year. It looks like the show is going to do well as preregistration is up almost 600% over last year at the same time. As of this weekend, 178 preregistered so hopefully the 500 mark should be obtainable. Ken also told me that drag racing portion for Friday night was put together to showcase the 8 former Super Stock cars, but that he was completely blown away from racers throughout the area looking to come and race. So that should be a good draw if everything can be pulled off for upcoming events.

Brainerd drag strip looks great after all the work there and the turnout has been awesome. I'm not surprised at the increase in interest.

Thanks RPM. It would be GREAT to have a show on the East coast of TN that would compare to the old Mopar Muscle Southern Classic in Bristol. The dragstrip screwed Bobby Rogers out of that show, and ran it nose first into the ground. I've been going to Farmington for years, so I gotta stay loyal and support the good folks with Piedmont Mopars this year. It may boil down to being a scheduling thing with one or both dragstrips, which ties the hands of both show promoters. Good luck, and have fun!!

Well guess I won't make it this year.

Wife has Forsyth County Citizen Fire Academy graduation on that Saturday, won't miss her going into the Burn house! I did it last year and what a great experience! If any of you have done a 10 week program like this you know what I am talking about, and if you have not you should! God bless our Fire and EMT folks!

Matt, North Georgia Mopar does a decent show here every year. I want to branch out some though and maybe can do Chattanooga next year.

Family should come first and I completely understand that. Also, I believe in being loyal to those who have supported the hobby and understand the issues of scheduling conflicts. Farmington has been going on for years and the Chattanooga show has been on and off for approximately the same amount of time.
The most important thing is to support what is available to you. I am as guilty as anyone about supporting the local shows, but we attend and vend at seven very large shows. I am very fortunate that I have that ability to attend these venues as most of them mean that you are away from home and the business for basically a week at a time. That is why I am promoting this show as much I can as it would give me a show basically in my back door. There is so many people in this area that who have not had the opportunity to attend a Carlisle or Nats type of venue. Some people have no desire to do so, but for those who would like the chance, this is an opportunity to start the building process.
I hope that I have not offended anyone and we all need to support the grass root shows. None of us are getting any younger and for the hobby to stay fresh and vibrant, we all need to work together, support the show promoters and organizers so that there is still the desire for people to come out and enjoy the various venues.

Spoke to Ken this morning and it looks like it should be an awesome Friday and Saturday in Chattanooga. As of May 5th, the preregistered car count was at 255. This number is quickly approaching the total participation for last year. Like wise, the number of drag racers is up tremendously as well.
I encourage all in the vicinity to come out and support the event. The swap meet is free of charge and the cost to participate in the get together is going to a very good cause. Already have confirmations for entrants from as far away as Tampa, FL and Jackson, MS.
So lets hope for good weather and everyone have a safe trip to and from the event. Stop by and say hello as we will be located in the main arena.

JW and Angela from Hames Restorations got into the arena this afternoon and started setting up for tomorrow. They said that cars were already there. We should be there by 9:00 on Friday morning. Anyone attending the show, stop by and say hello.
