Hello,

My name is Scott and I have a Mopar addiction…….
I’ve been a FABO lurker for a few years and have even bought parts from a few members here. I’m also active on a few other forums and didn’t need any additional information feeds (read as further fuel to feed my addiction and spend all of my time and money) until I got going on my latest project, a 71 Dodge Demon, but I’m getting ahead of myself.
I’ve been a Mopar guy for a number of years, I’m over 50 so you do the math, and have owned and worked on many cars of the last 35 years or so. Some of my other current toys include a Superbird, 72 Corvette, 78 VW beetle (my wife’s) and a motorcycle.
My first A body was the first car I actually bought on my own with paper route money back in 1982. It was a Butterscotch 340 4-speed Demon, all numbers matching with the original carb and exhaust manifolds in the trunk. I paid $400 and drove it home. That was the good part, the bad was that it was an 11 year old Midwest car with 95,000 miles (rusty and worn out by the standards of the day, but would have been a good builder today) with gold shag carpeting glued to the floorboards and Camaro bucket seats! I owned this car for a number of years, even swapped in a 440 at one point with my own home made headers! Eventually I just cut it up in around 1987 and scrapped the pieces. The next notable A body was a 63 Valiant called “Bad Company” that was a former drag car from the early 1970’s with license plates. It had the 340 out of my Demon in it and was a “project” off and on for around the next 10 years until I sold it somewhere around 1994. There have been others, and at least 3 more Demons, but my current project is another 71 Demon that I’m building as a “restomod”. It was bought new in Pasadena CA in November of 1970 and driven for the next 36 years by a little old lady until she quit driving and the car made it’s way to Dallas TX. I bought It via an ad on Moparts in 2008 and drove it home to Illinois. I put the car into storage in October 2008 and got it out last year. It’s a slant six grandma car by all accounts, but it is completely clean, unmolested and ready for a new life with 3G Hemi power. I’ve actually been enjoying driving around last summer in the old car like it is, it really is fun (for me anyway) to tool around in anything old for a DD. Anyway I’ll post up some pics below and am looking forward to being an “Abody” guy again!

:welcome: to the fray!! Lots of nice toys there!!! ..but - - all that great old school iron - and then a newer Honda two wheeler... :BangHead:

Very nice rides!!! We need to see more of that Demon! maybe some interior and engine compartment. They make good restoration reference material:)

As requested.....This is one of the most original unmolested cars I have ever owned or worked on. It really is nice taking things apart and knowing what fastener actually goes where etc...and that they were not just dumped out of Bubba's coffee can and used "wherever".
