**73 Scamp Mini Pro-Street Engine Swap**

There is no way I could sell the car without taking it to the track and seeing what it runs. I would want to know after all the work done on it.

Haven't posted here in a long long time. I still have the car. I am heading out to Qualcom street legal drags on April 14th.. Putting slicks on that I have not used even once yet. NOS bottles filled, changing the oil, plugs and putting a little more timing in it. We will see what it does on a non prepped track. I am in need of a release.... I feel sorry for the poor car and what I am about to take out on it. Lots of frustrations! haha

some one bringing a video camera?
Should do good with slicks.
I like that kind of stress releaf !!!!

I got everything done on the car today for next Friday. Loading it on the trailer Thursday night.

Changed oil, put on slicks, did a once over on all bolts on ladder bar, track bar, New plugs, checked timing, changed pills for retard etc. Most I've done in my shop in 18 mos.. haha

Piling up all the stuff I need to take with me.

Go get it man! Super stoked to see results! Think high 9's?

I had to skip out on Qualcom...

BUT... I just got back from Barona today. My good buddies Pete and Aram went with. They know their ****!

Off the trailer the car goes straight as an arrow, hooks like all get out. It carries the front wheels 12" off the ground about 20-25 feet. All that time spend on the Ladder bar and scaling the car was worth it! We did not have to change anything all day on the suspension.

The car ran well... We pulled it off the trailer and did a couple motor passes. Off the T Brake the car was leaving hard and then the nose would dive. Found out that fuel was dumping into the carb from the vent tubes. We set a hose across and hooked them together and got a vent in the hose at the top... Problem fixed.. Now it was NOS time.

Best time was 6.7, Best 60' of the day was 1.46 IRRC.... Best MPH was 103 ish in the 1/8th..... I have the NOS on a separate button from the Trans brake and I had a real hard time getting the NOS to come on off the Trans brake hitting the button on the steering wheel. That in itself is a mind game. I will be wiring in a Full Throttle switch so as soon as I let off the T Brake the NOS comes on instantly. The button on the steering wheel will still work when done for use on the street... "Bang Button"

There is lots more in the car..... We ran out of tuning time... I believe after the small changes "Full Throttle NOS Switch and us creeping up on the NOS tune the car has 9.90's in it.

A whole bunch of people were checking out the car... more than ever before. Lots of comments, all good. When most found out it was my first time on a track, they were surprised telling me I did very well. I didn't feel like it though, I have lots to learn... LOTS

2 Black guys came up to me when I was loading the car on the trailer to leave. They were like... We were watching you run that S**t all day. We had to see WTF was under that M-Fer... It hooks like a M-Fer, GD yada yada. You had to have been there it was some of the funniest stuff I have ever heard in my life! HAHA

Yes it is fun. I ran the car a total of 8 times. I made a mistake on every one of them..... Lots to learn! Hats off to the guys that have this stuff wired.

Good to see you got it out Louis and having some fun with it!

Congratulations.... Great Job.... Running a 1.46/60" the first time out can be a little challenging for most first timers...
Sounds like you did great.. It only get's better with seat time.... Job Well Done !!!! Car and you are AWESOME to say the least...
Happy to hear you had a good time, Hope your buds did also?
Cheers... :)

Awesome Louis! I recommend looking into the leash NOS relay controller. Has the relay to work with the transbrake so the NOS isn't engaged until you let off the button. It also has a built in delay timer. Be handy if you find yourself blowing the tires away at the hit. Its quite reasonable too..
