Chris Cornell Dies At Age 52

-
still in shock... so friggin' sad - RIP

Suspected suicide which is even more of a shock. I am sure he had his share of demons, like we all do, but I always thought he was the most grounded and "above it all" especially for someone who was an elite talent for 30+ years.

Sickens me, wish I could have seen him. Big big fan feel for his loved ones. R.I.P. Chris Cornell you will be MISSED!!!

Was so looking forward to seeing Soundgarden Saturday

I saw them Sunday night at Starlight theatre here in KC. So strange knowing that he is gone now. RIP Chris

Very sad indeed. I've been a big fan of all of Chris's bands and even his solo stuff. He was on my bucket list of bands to see, but sadly I never got the chance. One quick story, when me and my wife were planning our wedding and invites, I had no idea that she invited 5 of my favorite bands. Soundgarden was the only band to respond to our wedding invite saying they had other obligations and could not make it. Im sure it was a publicist or someone doing the responding but its still very cool that at least we got the RSVP back signed Best Wishes Soundgarden

Man,
it must be terrible to have more money than you'll ever spend, talented and have people love you.
I have very little sympathy for people who take their own lives.
A very selfish, long term solution to a temporary problem.
I feel for his family, they're the ones he passed his pain to.

His family, his friends and we, his fans will have to pay for his selfish mistake. I can't judge him because that's not my place, but I've been somewhere near where he was at, and it ain't pretty. On a brighter note, here's a very early clip I found on YouTube

Well, I knew Chris was quoted saying he'd had a bad experience w/drugs at 13-14yrs. old, & mostly drink & smoking were His vices. Unfortunately based on the recent
images of Him I've seen, the thin, hollow, & tired tell-tale signs of ****** were apparently confirmed today, reportedly shot-up right before taking His life. Sucks.
He doesn't need Your sympathy, He's gone now, and unfortunately all those wonderful things You listed doesn't seem to stop people from trying the junk. Once
taken, it is not a temporary problem, it is a life-long fight with an addiction they will eventually lose. I will not excuse nor come close to justifying the terrible choice
He made to start using, but it's not My place to condemn Him for what ultimately happened, all I know is My favorite vocalist & a great songwriter/performer has
left Us forever on this planet. As for the above video, I was unaware they had made that long after I'd owned the 1st Audioslave album, when I purchased the
DVD I was blown away realizing how that song was made for that. The attention to detail in re-creating scenes w/them(or stuntmen) mixed w/the original footage
and film/camera quality & vibe is awesome, the ending is, well, metaphorically all too real now. God bless His soul & may His death not be one more lost lesson
on the consequences of drug use.........................

Well, it will be interesting when the toxicology is complete.

Will be interesting to see the toxicology report. I wonder if instead of ****** it was injecting benzos (Ativan).

Audioslave. Best music he ever produced. This music was all him,
No others input. And simply best he produced IMO.
Out talented soundgarden by far.

To think Chris Cornell wrote this after coming back to His apt. shared with rocker Andy Wood(fronting the band that would become Pearl jam), and finding Him dead from a
****** OD, makes it even more gut wrenching to listen to now..........................
