(Rob, I was referring to you, just getting a hot rod running, and streetable, cost less bucks...Not for lack of effort.....it takes so much, damn time....) Love it, hate it, use it for inspiration... It's a Facebook, Youtube, & other media sources, I don't remember..... They are mostly armed forces members, so they don't post much. What they do, I LOVE....

I loved it!
Get out and drive them!
Work on pretty as you go!
Thanks for posting this!

Jeff

I've been saying this for years!! I have a certain circle of friends who have about 40 cars between them, and not a single one of them has a car that they can drive! I love it when they want to tell me what they would do if they owned one of my cars!! Goes something like this!!!...

Them.."You know what I would do if that was mine"??
Me..."let is sit and not do anything with it"??

None of my stuff is perfect, and I don't strive for perfection, unless a big smoky burnout in the Kroger parking lot is perfection, then yes, I strive for perfection!! My cars are meant to be driven!!!

I have never seen that, like it. Has a little "Mad Max" movie feel to it lol. The video scenes of them driving with the throaty v8 sound gives me some inspiration to maybe get to work! Thanks for posting.

Awsome. This is like what I drive. I drive my dart everywhere its not a show car at all. But I can drive it any time. If it gets a door ding its not the end of the world. Have a lot of friends that drive their cars maybe 1 to 3 times a year so they don't get to enjoy them. Buddy has a 70 dart 340 4 speed, very nice car but it hasn't moved in 4 yrs. drives me crazy.

Biggest mistake to date was tearing my running car down "to paint it." (Nov 013)

The "Black Menace" is pretty forlorn, LOL

It is STILL not back together. The paint was a "20 footer" but it ran and drove great and was fun. Now I'm older, and at my age, "tomorrow" is a miracle.

Yeah I'm feeling the same way -resisting the temptation to do too much at once and keeping it intact as much as I can. Years ago I'd completely tear a car apart from the get-go, then trade or sell because I was bored from it taking forever.

I had a buddy I knew for 25 years. he was a lover o f 65 darts and owned many, projects parts cars, some ran and drove. . he had a 65 273 dart totally restored, he probably just paid for the paint and machine work and he did the rest. He drove it ONCE and was afraid someone would scratch or hit it. it had sat for 4-5 years when he passed away this year...... yep he drove it ONCE!

Ha! This video nailed it. All my mopars are ratty. Get it driving , THEN make it look nice as you go.

Part of the reason im fixing my darts mechanical before body and paint is so my lady can drive it a couple years before I do it to completion. I don't know how much she will want to drive it afterwards. Plus it will give me time to fix or complete any other cars or such before it goes down for a bit. I have to have two reliable vehicles before I can tear into a project that can't drive while doing it. I should have 3 reliable as usually one of the two will malfunction as my luck is. 6 vehicles, only one on the road. 1 had no issues other than needing front struts cause they are stuff but without a title it doesn't get out. My van which is on the road will be getting CV joints today and gas tank tomorrow and get the float fixed in tank. Truck needs fuel lines rebuilt after motor swap. Dart I need washers and lug nuts and to finish the disc brakes. And two vans I have for parts and maybe a motor rebuild if I can get the title otherwise it's parts too. Sad thing is, I'm still looking at other old school rides.
Kids are gonna hate when it is time for them to get cars. I'm gonna hear "it's a pile of trash" or something. Then hand them a tool box. Pass the insanity on lol.
