Went to put the bucket seats into my 63 Dart GT and discovered that the nuts for the bolts that go on the bottom of the seat rails to hold it onto the floor of the body have gone MIA. Anyone know off the top of their head what size it is? Unfortunately, they're just bit big and heavy to take to Ace Hardware to figure it out.

Pretty sure they are 7/16 thread and a little small in my opinion.

I don`t know about 63 but any thing after 70 was 5/16 nc if I recall. They had washer atached to the nut and used 1/2 socket to remove. I believe they are a grade 8 nut or hardened but not 100% on that.

The original nuts will also have a captured washer on it, 2 larger washers on the inboard studs, and 2 with slightly smaller washers that just fit inside the outside brace!! The washer helps spread the load over a wider area!!

I'm not sure about earlier tracks but... 67 and later did have 5/16 bolts. A standard 5/16 bolt will have a 1/2 hex head. A thin wall socket wouldn't fit in the track with that size head. So...
Some examples had special made hex head bolts with smaller heads. Others had a special round head bolt with a phillips like posi drive. I think a allen socket head bolt might work there if you need to find "off the shelf" substitute, Unless that socket head is too tall to allow track movement. I haven't tried it. Good luck

5/16 in my 68 Dart ,my studs were stripped so I replaced them with 5/16 all thread.
