Hey J par! Check out this 10 year old E.T. slip I found. It mirrors yours.... almost to a "T"!
Is your wife not driving because she isn't ready yet, or because she has a hurt foot?
Your tranny shifted great! Congrats on that. And, you and your wife are having a blast. I kind of, at this point, throw out where the parts came from or how you come by 'em. I say it's a 318, 4bbl, mild cam and headers, with cut 360 heads. With some tuning, you should be able to pull around 20 mph the last 1/8. Like I said, I'd throw more timing at it, and go richer on the carb. Without spending hardly a 20 dollar bill, I bet you drop the E.T. a lot and see the mph go up!
Both actually and since we both live our lives on the theory that if we didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all my wife goes in for surgery tomorrow on her toe next to the little pinky toe. We've tried to get it to heal for the last 6 weeks maybe 10 weeks or so and it just will not heal so we need to take it in and have it splint or plate put in to stop it and just get on. this after two complete knee Replacements last year and was just starting to walk the dogs around the block and kick that damn bed post going to bed I heard it "snap!" Life so the doc said 6 weeks back on her feet. Life goes on she's not a boo hoo'er. She was enthused and was enjoying herself a lot and was talking of being able to see herself giving it a try and using words like that and that was Cool! I still got a few more projects to do with the two-step and other things like I need some Street drag radials so we can just drive it there and drive it home and some other stuff to make it completely comfortable for her to drive. It was very well behaved off the starting line and quite Snappy on the shift and fun. I think I was running like 17 pounds of air in the back.
but she could tell it got a little floaty towards the top end. I've already been discussing the ideas of the Eighth Mile on Wednesday it's a little more expensive and it's kind of more organized for the purse but she still will hit 3rd gear just before the 8th mile.
might be able to find a nice used set on CL. Perhaps a set already mounted on some rims, ya know, a bolt and go. Might be on a 15" rim or something.... but you'll get something worked out.So I'm looking for some Street/strip tires for the 18×7.5 street rims. The 225 60 18's have good tread, don't do crap at the track. The slicks don't fit in the car to take to track. Plus it's a pain. I want to try some cheap used super car tires to see if its enough to hold the track. The street tires were spinning like stupid and the slicks feal like Overkill. I need to stay close to 28" tall as the 28 tall slicks and 410 gears have the motor on its last breath at the end of the 1/4 mile.

Oh...no. Is there a chance I'm a hoarder? Hmmmm......Been there doing that done that and regret that I resold them! Because I can't find any on Craigslist when I really need them!!!
I just really like to get a set of tires to fit these 18 inch rims. they match the front and back and I don't want yet another set of rims and tires.
Seriously a set of drag rims and tires and a set of Street rims and tires and now its third set of..... noooooo!
My poor two car garage and little metal shed out back or at the capacity. I'm a collector not a hoarder and I know the difference! LOL oh yeah I forgot about the 10x20 Costco garage on the other side of my house with the Studebaker the Goldwing the little trailer and all the other Wood and crap I can find. One more toothpick around here and I'll consider myself a hoarder no more rims and tires! LOL

Baha ha ha ha ha ha!Well I'm hoping to take the old nuts & bolts down to Portland International Raceway for 8th mile on Wednesday night. I'm talking the mean teen to the sportsman class and lay down the law!
Just curious, what RPM do you shift at? I'm guessing around 5500....Did the first oil change today. And then a cranking pressure check. I was very curious - first time valve lapping. 150 - 154 except #8 160? That #8 plug was moist as well. I don't think the rear main seal is happy. A few drops of thick clean oil on the bellhousing bottom. I'm not sweating that.
That poor 318 gets beat on at every opportunity on the 16 mile drive to the track, at the track, and all the way home. An sits there and returning to it's choppy idle as if to say- "that's all you got?!" The 904 - absolutely FLAWLESS!!

Turn it up to 11!I had the shift light set at 5,000 before and last night turn it up to about 54 and it seems a bit too much but it handled it no problem.
Turn it up to 11!

lol
That would be a great contest!?
We could line our cars up side by side with my $50 budget Craigslist motor LOL and whatever motor you currently have in your car today and start them and throw a brick on the gas pedal and see who's last the longest? I'm in...
Are you?
YUP!
I've taken mine to 7k on the street. That's where the rev limiter is set. No valve float or any other problems. So it would just sit there and very loudly bang off the rev-limiter for however long. lol

lol ???
nice 60 ft. but aren't you down 3 mph here in the 1/8 ?Well I did suffer my typical first round lost you know where I red light break out and all that stuff LOL but I did have one moment of Glory in the third round of qualifying. Even though the time slip has dial * this was actually a heads-up race. They use the third round practice to determine the latter for the first round of eliminations so on the third you have to write a dial. Anyways it was a Mustang with the young man who brought his slicks and a jack and I was kind of surprised I took him. That was a great 60-foot for the tires that I had on, if I could do that every time I wouldn't want or need my slicks.
