Does this set up seem sensible?

Just puked my second mechanical pump, so I'm going electric. Plannining on mounting a Carter 4594 by the tank, I've already installed a 3/8" tube in sending unit. Using a large canister type filter befor the pump. Running 3/8" line to a factory type filter I found with the vapor return nipple and 3/8" in and out nipples. From the filter, itl go to a regulator then to the carb. Anyone see a problem using the factory return system with this set up? And do I need to run a relay with this pump? Its on an on/ off road vehicle that sees everything from 110° days in summer, to well below zero in winter. I've already got most of these parts and wanting to put them to use. Its only feeding about 275 or 300 up. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, and sorry about the Crappy diagram, I just woke up and haven't had my coffee yet

So you plan to run an electrical fuel pump, but use a vapor separator as a return line?

As long as the pressure on the pump is limited it might work, but I personally would instal a return style regulator (especially with the 110 degree ambient temps you mentioned)
 
I was just seeing if what I already have will work since they're all new parts. Running an electric pump with the factory vapor return not a good idea?

I run filters at the tank, before the pump. Many say not to, just make sure ur filter is big enough to not suck the media out of it, or collapse it. I don`t think I`d use the vapor return, unless it`s fuel pressure compatible. ?????????
 
I second the bypass regulator idea. Keeps the fuel cool. (But, I'm not exactly sure how that 3-nipple fuel filter works)
 
I'm using a big canister type filter ffrom a fuel injection set up at the tank. Wouldn't the vapor return be the same with an electric pump, since the factory set up has the filter with the return nipple after the pump? Just curious

I believe the 3 nipple filter has a 60 thousands orfice in it to "bleed off vapors"
If the orfice is the correct size for the pressure the pump supplies, the orfice will drop the pressure to the desired levels

What pump are you planning on running?

I intend to change mine over to a bypass regulator
I bought a new 3/8th fuel line which I will install next to the stocker, and use the stocker as the return line
 
Any disadvantage to just forgetting the return line, setting the regulator about 5lbs and running it like that? How bout a relay for the pump? Is it necessary?
