Lol,my buddy can. He sneaks in diecast all the time when the wife is out.
 
Lucky for me I have a very understanding live in girlfriend who turns a blind eye to my car hobby as long as I pay my portion of the bills.
 
My wife is the same way,new kits,no problem with her and when she gets more yarn for her hobby,ok with me.We support each others hobby's.
 
With me it's guns, if I can sneak it in the house or gun safes, I'm home free. If she ask about a gun, I tell her it's been here for ever!
 
My sister's fiance, was old school hot rodding, from El Centro , Ca.. As was the traditional early mid '60's kid,he massed a huge collection of unopened model kits, after war veteran retirement....He was actually really good, on building them. .... He spent more time, buying them. He passed away, my sister had more than 300 untouched model boxes, of '60's musclecars, custom, metal WW2 airplane models.. No one in the male fiance's family ...wanted it, just the kickback money, from sales ...(SIGH)....

Thats really sad. I am going to offer these things to certain family members before i get to retirement age, as well as whittle down my full size car and parts collection, and enjoy the fruits of my labor.
 
Only in America does the woman have the power to object to anything a man does .....it's really something. :)

I have lived other places where the woman is told to mind her own damn business and she does.

I would love to see the mindset , on that ...from your perspective. .
 
My wife doesnt tell me what i can buy. For starters i pay the bills, and as long as nothing gets shut off due to a late payment, and nobody goes starving, there isnt a problem.

I got boxes of parts always coming in or going out. She doesnt ask, and doesnt care, because the above bills are taken care of. Now if i was neglecting to pay the bills and still buying stuff for me, well then there would be a problem, and rightfully so. Its about taking care of priorities first, and hobby **** second. Thats what makes a responsible adult.

The other thing is i keep my hobby money seperate of household funds, and i never mix the 2. I do a lot with paypal, and buy my parts and stuff using my paypal balance from stuff i have sold, so my paycheck never even enters the picture anyways. If i get a bonus from work, my wife doesnt concider community property, its an "atta boy" for a job well done, as such that goes into my hobby fund.

She has told me multiple times, you worked hard for that "pat on your back", its yours to do what you want with.
 
Some wives "get it," others never will. Just like some husbands either understand their wives (somewhat) or they never will!!???? ha
People are funny!! ( Why isn't everyone perfect like me!????) ha
