I asked the FABO member halifaxhops if he could rebuild a distributor for me. My engine is a 1975, 360, but it is modified a bit, not a lot, but he said he had a 1975 distributor he could rebuild for me and put an added 2 degrees to the vacuum advance for me. Well he did, and I put it on. The engine really improved, I mean significantly. It accelerates much quicker when not in gear, and when driving there is a noticeable improvement.

I had an “Over the Counter” Cordone that was rebuilt which I got from a parts house in it. The years it covered were from 1972-1983 I believe... Way to much of a spread for it to be accurate for each specific engine’s needs. The difference was night and day. You would think I had bought some kind of performance kit and installed it. I mean it wasn’t like nitrous, but it really brought my engine to life. And he gives you a spec sheet so you know what the distributor’s specs are.

I highly recommend halifaxhops when it comes to rebuilding distributors. He will rebuild mine the next time it needs it, for certain.

His name is Ray...

this is one update that will make a lot of difference, and the "rebuilt" distributors available at the parts stores are nothing like a recurved dist!!

They are set to work on almost anything, some times great and sometimes not so good.

When I had my /6 recurved , for more advance I pulled the dizzy out and put the new set/curve dizzy in my /6 woke up I tell yea !!
Thank you for your service here Ray, I would recommend this to any member here that is running a tired old dizzy or a new one that is not set up correctly

don't know for sure, but I hear he could run Budweiser out of the beer business!!????? ha

it is amazing how well our old cars can run if some things are actually right!!??? and run cool to boot.

Ray's the man....

He is the official distributor of distributors... :D

Budweiser has nothing to worry about.. Now the Genesee brewery, on the other hand, has put on an extra shift (the Hoppy shift so-to-speak)..
mom told me when i was a kid to never drank beer, it tastes like horse piss. I asked how she knew. said, some things older brothers teach their younger sisters on the farm. did they give her beer or horse piss!? ha... non back to building/selling distributors!!!

parts store distributors will work fine for general purpose and may well help those hi compression engines that are fighting detonation.Having said that, tuning and a faster curve can certainly add some "jump" to your ride.

Hoppy is a good dude. Hard to find people anymore that are honest, reliable and follow through. He is a rarity for sure.

Yes I am!
