Just a heads up. If you happen to buy on EBAY please check the listing carefully. If you see this in the listing
No additional import charges at delivery!
This item will be shipped through the Global Shipping Program and includes international tracking be advised that your item will be shipped to ERLANGER, KY first and then re shipped to you. The location in Kentucky is the EBAY Global Shipping Centre.

This s-s.. was to buy a rad for my Dak on E-bay. Asked for a shipping quote, and got an answer that was totally useless. Well, well they´ll loose potential byers, thats for sure.

So does this increase shipping costs for us in Canuckistan?

:banghead:The problem is it said 2 day shipping and it is once it gets to Kentucky. Think of it this way how would you feel if you bought an item that was just over the border in Washington and it was something you needed in a hurry and then found out where it was been shipped too. I was also told by someone in customer support that Canada is overseas.

FYI
You will most likely get a "International" charge on your CC through Pay Pal also,
% based on purchase amount.I have bought stuff marked"shipped from USA" but their Pay Pal is over seas.

Thank's for the heads up I just wanted to give a heads on this Global Shipping deal. If the seller uses it it goes to Kentucky even if you live 1 state away from them.

The thing that is maddening about the new fee is that. Your paying this global shipping charge on some used items as well. In the past it was just one fee as there is no duty on used parts. Example, there's an auction on Ebay right now for a used grill shell and 15 misc small parts. The shipping cost are 36.50 shipping and an additional cost of 37 dollars for global shipping. You end up paying for shipping twice under the guise of import charges which wouldn't have to pay if it was shipped directly to you.

Another scam. I avoid merchants that use this feature. I also message them about my total cost. Used 36mm impact socket. 9.00us Snap-on 17.00 ship Import fees 36.00. Lol off to Princess Auto.
I don't think the merchants realize how bad this is hurting them.

Sounds like the original Fed-Ex business model where everything was shipped to one central distribution center regardless of point of origin and destination. Only fleabay now has their hands in the shipping till too. Long ago I put fleabay in the last resort place to buy something for reasons like this.

Ebay teamed up with pitney bowes and created a money grab called global shipping program . They claim they will save you the duties and brokerage fees this way, however if you simply were to use usps for shipping, there generally is no brogerage for lurchase under $200.ebay cons the USA seller into joing the global ship program and they do because they dont know its affecting tbe Canadian buyer. Ebay monitors your emails to sellers andvifvyou complain or ask the seller to opt bout of the GSP ebay will ban you or temporarily shut you down. It happened to me and ive been an active member since 2001. Big mo ey grab.

Kindah related....Is there a prefered way to send over to U.S. for larger parts? Canada Post cannot ship a hood cause of its size.

Bring it across to Buffalo and try Greyhound or Fastenal. Both can ship large items. I've sent seats in UHaul clothing boxes via Greyhound from Detroit to South Carolina.

I'm done with Ebay for this reason.

In the past using USPS/Canada Post, I have had a ton of items come across from the U.S with no duty, taxes or brokerage/customs charges applied.

I'm sure the greedy Canadian government has a lot to do with this global shipping swindle pressuring Ebay to jam this shipping scam down their vendors throats so the Canadian government can now ensure they get their duty and taxes on every single shipment no matter how small or large the cost.

Ever wonder why Amazon.com charges Canadians 13% GST and PST tax on shipments from the U.S to Canada, but Amazon.com will not charge state tax on out of state shipments to U.S. addresses.

It's all to do with the money grubbing Canadian government!

Just came back Saturday from picking up stuff in Buffalo, I see our gov now charges HST on shipping within the states, What a bunch of Bandits!!

I had a huge argument with a customs agent about them charging HST on shipping. I told her it was BS to charge me taxes on something that was consumed in the US and I wasn't importing "shipping" into Canada and also drove 2 hours using gas that I paid 75% tax on per liter , plus 13% HST and 5% carbon tax on top of that! I also asked her if she was going to charge me tax on my taxicab ride that I took in New York City or the burger I ate there too.

Man, she was pissed off at me! My buddy was looking for a hole to crawl into.

When I bought my A/C system I asked them to bill me separately for the shipping and only supplied the bill for the A/C only, not shipping.

LOL.... I was just saying the same thing to my bro last night. Separate bills will be the 1st question from now on!!

We had all these issues with eBay and PayPal on US sales we pay almost 10% right off the top in fee's and more on foreign Credit cards.
We bought a postal system called "Dazzle" cut our rates way down and allows us to ship 1st class instead of GSP or Priority International. Cuts the overall cost drastically to the point where we now offer Free Shipping on our small parts to Canada, Australia and most of Europe. What used to cost $10-$15 is now $2 and change for a padded envelope.
