I'm putting a 2008 5.7 in a 1969 Valiant... my question is am I better to get a plug and play kit or get a wire harness like a Hemi hot rod style harness?? I'm using a 727 trans no air no power steering...is the 08 hemi good for a swap??? THANKS

The most cost effective way to approach that is a gold box from efi source.

08 is a decent enough engine. It really is six of one and half dozen of another. Efi source wiring is the most cost effective, but, need to convert to cable throttle body. That is not the end of the world. BUT, need to look closely at those costs closely. I'm going through this now. I carb'd my race car, but, not sure cost wise what to do with a 5.7 for a Scamp. If starting compley from scratch, injection probably is the way to go. If you're like me and have a load of carbs and electric pumps for those carbs......

I wouldn’t put a carb on a gen3 for nothing. There’s an adapter to put an LS throttle body on it. They can wire it for the gm sensors for that. Mikes a good guy. He’s building that same harnes for mine plus a 4l80 trans controller built in.

Is it a truck or car motor if a car motor you may have to notch k member a bit. If motor is complete just get wiring harness from Hotwire and trans kickdown cable from Pace performance call Pace perforformance they are a vendor on the site he will set you up with what you need. If it's a car motor make sure it doesn't have MDS you will have to get a delete kit for it.
