Thank you Sanderson headers - installed on my cuda

nice to know such header work can be had for our early A , sometimes unloved and neglected , the OP had lots of work done besides paying to have headers made so I figure anyone serious about a price can contact the company for costs !?????

That's cool that Cuda James lives close enough to drop his car off and have them make and install them. I hope they took lots of measurements so they can duplicate them. That design has been needed since the 60's. They look like a big block header with the front tube up and over the top.

Yes. Thanks for sharing. Always some unwanted criticism but more of us appreciate your showing the headers.

He didn't get any criticism other than not telling people how much it cost. People were asking for an idea on cost to see if its something they wanted. He got pissy saying it doesn't matter how much it costs.

like said, would it not be worth a phone call to the company/builder to get a price on just the headers and find out if they intend to offer these.

why would the OP necessarily know the breakdown on all the work/headers. sounded like the bill involved the headers, install and exhaust work.

some people gladly write out a check for the total bill having received a great product, work, at a what they consider a fair deal?? maybe they don't have to do like me, and nitpic every charge due to being a poora** !??? lol

Right not everyone is like us where we need to know where every dollar was spent but than say that. The response of "its not that much" leave the impression that he knew how much it cost. Like others have said one persons "not that much" is another persons car payment lol.

finally had a chance to change out the stock carb gasket to the thicker gasket (had a leak for the excuse for the change) and tweak the carb after the header install. Sadly the carb had not been touched since it was installed a year ago
My vacuum was bouncing between 14 and 15 pounds. Played with it a little, actually only about 15 minutes, brought it up to a consistent 17 pounds.
Holy smokes, I had left a lot of performance on the table. After the exhaust and carb changes the car is pulling hard.
So much fun, I am in love again

I just talked to Carlos, It sounds like they have developed a new part number with the #1 tube mod for early A's, it's Sanderson part number DD9.

I think I'm going to have them make me a dd9 for the W2 Flange for my 66 440" /360 wagon

I think asking the price was/is a fair question. If the poster didn’t want to say he shouldn’t of posted cause he had to know that question would be asked. To some ppl its always a big secret. Kim

I was just going to post a thread on this subject because I have a column shift. I'm not sure if I'm thankful or pissed right now.

The link for the DD9's says they don't have the pic updated yet so hard to tell if they are the same as the OP's.

cudajames , what engine are you running ? what size tubes did sanderson use ? any chance you can post pics or bring by my shop for me to see . i've got a 64 cuda i'm stiffing a 340 6pck in , would like to see your header fit .

those have no tuning length to the primaries , that not what i'm looking for .

Why can't it be possible to make an early A header for under 450.00? Full length late A from 120.00-700.00 , all fit but in varying ways and finished.

Someone better make a shorty for an A that fits all columns for 375.00, not doing so in my opinion kills those cars off faster .People turn away from the cost of modifying one. It' butcher the inner fenders or lose power.
