Looks good, but I'd hate to be the one trying to keep it looking that way on a running driving car.

I love it, but the thought of making the throttle linkage work gives me a headache...

It does look nice but I'm not a fan of jewelry. An original "as cast" cross ram intake would
be my first choice.

Nice work.
I bet that took a lot of time............
What are your plans for it?

No no no...its not mine! I was looking for my old pic and googled STR-12 and this came up. Yeah, that is amazing. I cant even polish a cast timing cover!

Yea same here!!! Such a long Process .
Too funny, it appears the bolts & washers (4) are just holding the top on for the photo to show off the polishing, but hey ya gotta make fun of something.

Nice, but where's the pop-off valves? Shame for all that work to end up looking like all the fault lines in Cali with one good backfire!!!!

Exactly, I had one of these back in the 80's and a guy found out I had it and came over every week with more money till I gave in and sold it to him, the next day he was pounding on me door demanding his money back. It backfired and blew the lid in 4 pieces and burnt the hair off his face, all I could do was grin because I wanted to kick his *** for breaking my manifold.

My first top (bought base only for $100!) was a dual 390 setup off a 1/4 plate. It lasted about 3 minutes before a pop buckled the edge and vented it. 2nd was a 3/8 plate with a single Demon 650 that lasted forever, too bad the carb was ****. Ran great if you could keep the needle seat clear. If I were to do it again, I would tap 2 1" core plugs in the China walls that would blow before the top would buckle.

Show piece, but beautiful for sure. I assume a guy could put a pop off plate in back to protect it. Or for grins just spring load the carb studs so the carbs could lift:rofl:
