Is it just me.
I don't need a nother one I have three.
Just seems everything I see is crew cab 6 ft bed.
Hard to find a two door 8 ft bed.
How do you haul anything in that smallish bed.

They're for hauling golf clubs and egos. Nothing funnier than those jacked up coal rolling trucks with TV's and leather *** warmers. The interior is spotless, the bed is too high to put anything in, and the paint is still in the hitch receiver.

Those idiots pay a $1,000 a month to own a completely useless truck...my trucks don't move unless they are gonna put money in my pocket.

Tossing around the idea of a new truck, Im tired of HAVING to work on something instead of WANTING to. Up here "quad cabs" are not very common, the crew cabs are very common. Im looking for a basic truck with minimal bells and whistles. Hard to find.
Salesman at Dodge store quoted me $36K all in out the door for a 2018 4x4 hemi crew cab. I want a better deal and a 2017 will do just fine for me. 6 ft box would work for me too. 8 ft would be just like the garage....more room to fill it up with junk LOL

Thats why i have to build custom tailgates to carry snowmobiles, the beds are too short. Tailgate accepts ramp for safe loading.
A customer has a long bed standard cab, they are rare in these parts. 09 gmc 4x4.
Bougt a 9,000 dollar truck to save money by hauling his own water. Thats equivalent to 100 loads of delivered water. 100 months. In 8 years truck will be junk.

Hell, most half ton crew cab beds are less than 6 feet. Most are around 65 inches.

I have 2 pickups. My "work horse" a regular cab x 8 ft.bed. My "car" is a Crew cab, with a 5-1/2 ft. bed. It can tow well, though.

I trailered my 8 foot bed truck from New Mexico to Georgia behind my crew cab, and my Dart around the country with it. I also hauled my wife's SUV, AND an 18 ft boat (at the same time - two trailers) on a 9 hour drive from home to West Palm Beach, Fl. and back, with no complaints from the truck.

The crew cab is now approaching 175,000 miles, and the long bed is at nearly 300,000 miles, and both are still going strong.

...btw, I've never payed $1000 a month for a vehicle, ever. Not even when I had two new car payments at the same time.

I wish they'd use the crew cab long bed chassis and throw a regular cab on it with a 12' bed.

$1000.00 a month..where you from LMFAO
Pretty simple math and works the same everywhere. A lot of these trucks are well over $60k. Personally I make the payments to myself and buy trucks out right, but a 60mo loan... that's a grand a month without charges or interest. Doesn't matter what you put down, it's still a grand a month. I know people take out 72, 84, and longer loans now... they're nuts. That's just a way to get something you obviously can't afford.

and that is before you put down payments on 22s and rubber bands

I have owned a pick up truck of one kind or another for many many years and cannot imagine being without one. I just went from an extra cab to a crew cab - VERY happy with it - the extra room inside is nice... a lot of things that I need to move or take with me from A to B - I don't want out in the elements. The bed is the same size as my last truck - 6' (give or take) - never felt like I was missing anything before, and I highly doubt I ever will. Being as I am few inches shy of 6' tall, the high ride height and bed height are not an issue for me. The local recycling center charges by weight with a minimum weight fee of 200lbs. - no need for an 8' bed to accomplish that - you could get 200lbs. of trash inside a RAV4. Oh - and my new one has heated seats, a heated steering wheel, a touch screen for controlling accessories - it's 4 wheel drive, 3/4 ton, automatic transmission and has nearly 420hp - so it'll work and play! You know - it's all about what you need/want a truck for - as far as I am concerned, if you're a home owner, you really should have a pick up truck.
oh - and there is no such thing as a "useless truck" - your neighbors truck might not fit the bill for you - but that's a you thing.

Ever pull a gooseneck with that short short bed!?? It takes a special hitch on the trailer!!!! ha what a suburd I, city fied joke bed!!! sorry!

again - - it's all about what you need/want a truck for.. curious, what do you have that is gooseneck that you haul?

I have a ford Supercab with a 6’ bed. I work in the construction industry and I put my truck through its paces regularly. A few weeks ago I had 250 12’ 20 gauge studs in the bed of it. I was right at the payload of the truck and it handled it just fine. Use common sense and properly secure your load and you can haul nearly everything an 8’ bed can.

Had trucks of all types for the last 50 years. Last two were Avalanche's. (look it up) Current one is a 2013 "black diamond" edition, last year of production. Crew cab with 5 1/2' bed and all options. Paid cash, if I need to haul anything large I use my 4 place triton all aluminum snowmobile trailer. Works for me.

I have an 05 2500 ram crew cab 4x4 diesel. Bed is 6.5 ft. I tow a 35 ft 5th wheel camper with no fancy slide hitch. The interior space is great for family travel and I've hauled 16 ft 2x10s out the back.

I refuse to own a 4 door truck.
Flash backs of driving moms 4 door cars in high school.

I just bought a new Ram a few months ago, yes it is hard just to find a single cab truck equipped the way you want it.

Mines a 2010 F150 super cab love the 4 full size doors can't stand my rental it has those halfass doors in the back, body shop called the other day he couldn't believe it was a '10(my truck not the Ram) thought it was much newer then that, explained to him how ALL my vehicles are well taken care of and thats why they look newer then they are:D:D

A truck with a diesel and all the bells and whistles will cost nearly a grand a month and that don't include insurance.
now, if you buy a used truck, cut that down a lot. because they give them away.

I have the 4 door ram with a 6 foot bed.
I am a full time single father and needed a truck for work and family farm.
I haul alot of stuff on a daily basis.

I always hated 4 door trucks but then my daughter came along and my only option was going 4 door or switch to a car. A car would not handle my daily life. A reg cab 8 foot box would work but not if I wanted to take a vacation with my daughter and a friend.

I also have a 4x8 trailer for bigger objects or hauling a load of scrap.
Debating on upgrading to a car trailer soon
