no one said it was your responsibility to know what kind of car I have. and as far as "posting them as they were to you" is still wrong. it falls back to, "your responsibility is to know what your selling". as the seller, you do that leg work. its that simple. $45 and I keep them. put it in writing on paypal.

You are the one spending your money. It is your responsibility to know what you are buying is what you want.

That's like saying you go to a clothing store and just stick your hand out and grab something off the rack, then take it back because you didn't check style or size. That's your fault. Not the seller's. You did the exact same thing here.

Why don't you guys split the shipping and call it a day? You both made mistakes, call it lessons learned and move on.

Would love to but it's been escalated. I can't touch it anymore. I believe that would have to be done on your end. There's a pending offer of $45.00USD for you to review.

no, I bought what was advertised. which were 73/74 bumper brackets.

I agree, but every normal person double checks before pulling the trigger. You almost act as if Joe did this intentionally. He did not.

I understand where he's coming from, I really do. I however feel refunding the shipping charges isn't fair. The brackets were shipped t you after all. I've made a reasonable offer for refund and felt it was fair. I'm not going to refund you $90 and be out $45 of my own money as well as you wanting me to pay for the shipping back.

Think about that for a minute. You want your $90 back, of which I only kept $45. Shipping back to me in Canada will prolly be around $40-45. So in all I'll have the bumper brackets back to me and then be out $130-135USD. Which is closer to $175cdn after exchange. Never going to happen....

I don't think he did this intentionally by any means. I don't want anyone to think that. he didn't know what he was selling, and listed them wrong. when I eventually did what the seller is suppose to do and verify the part numbers, they were wrong for my car. I told him this and he denied they were for 70-72 and still claimed them 73/74. I asked for a full refund and now were here.

And YOU didn't know what you were buying.....

All that too......but I see him wanting YOU to accept responsibility over how he spends HIS money. How insane does that sound?

I bought a pair of wheels on here off a member a while back. I THOUGHT I made it clear I wanted the Ford Magnum 500 style wheels......but somehow, between the two of us, we got our wires crossed. My fault, his fault......whatever. I didn't ask for pictures, I just assumed he knew what I wanted. I got two plain Ford steel wheels. He didn't do it on purpose. Plus, I did not cover my butt by asking for pictures. No big deal No hard feelings. I have two 14" plain Ford wheels. I can use one for a spare and have one left over. Honest mistake. Happens everyday.

He didn't know what he was selling. You didn't know what you were buying. Yet you want him to accept 100% responsibility. That's unreasonable.

I paid you for the shipping to my home. that's why I'm asking for a full refund, so I'm not paying $90 in shipping to me and from me. you wouldn't lose any money.

So he pays shipping to you and you pay shipping back? Sounds fair to me.

again, I thought I was buying what was listed. which were 73/74 brackets.

Again, it's your job to make sure. Give it up man. You got skin in this game too.

There are a few options for us. I'll refund the $45 for the cost of the brackets. We list them for sale and split the value. The buyer pays for shipping from you to him/her. That way we are splitting the difference.

which would still be a $90 refund. 45 for the brackets and 45 for shipping back to him. I already paid the cost of the brackets and shipping to me when I bought them. he refunds me $90, 45 for the purchase and 45 for the shipping.

I'm pretty sure I owned my mistake and said the only thing I did wrong was take someones word.

No, when you own something, there's cost involved. You're being unreasonable about this. What Joe has offered is more than fair.

no what I asked for is fair. its not like I molested the brackets to try and make them fit. they didn't fit for what was advertised. I asked for and refund and to send them back. hes not out nothing and I'm not out nothing.

Have you realized by now that there is a real possibility that sellers may hesitate to sell anything to you? This has turned into a no win situation for both parties. Awsig, you may 'win the battle', but you just may lose the war...... Food for thought.

I bought some 14x 10 steelies and they would not fit my lip installed so I sold them to a guy in San Diego who drove up and bought them after seeing them online. He got them home and found out they were in fact 13's and called me on them. Well I just felt sick and offered a complete refund and I would meet him halfway to hand them back. He declined and just said he should have measured them when he was looking at them as he understood I bought them as 14's also. That was a bum deal but had a negotiated outcome, both of us are wiser now. Just an honest mistake on my part and he realized it. Good guy.
