Looked around a bit, but, didn't find anything. I thought I read on here somewhere about someone looking into adapting an LS manifold. Not sure or can find any info on port spacing. Also know a goofy wedge shaped adaptor would have to be used or possibly just mill off flanges and weld to prefabbed hemi intake flange? Not scared of machine prices, have connections. Yeah, I know. I'm stupid for carb'ing a gen 3. Just getting that out there before someone else does. Have had very good results with the carbs. Just tossing ideas around for a real world AFFORDABLE intake. Yeah, good luck with that too. Lol, what say you?

The Edelbrock intake was okay on price the last time I checked, but it's been years. The kicker with it is you had to have two carbs, so what you might have saved on intake costs you lost in extra carb cost.

That's just it. Granted, if you're going on the cheap, a couple of used edelbrock carbs can be had for 200-250. Not really wanting to do the dual quad thing. The intakes are around 440.

I was thinking the Mod Man was around $400 (I have one), but I just checked the prices and it's $530, so guess not. I think the Drag Pak one is $600+ right? I get that people don't do carbs as much anymore, but you would think they would have some market for these in older cars that don't want to do the full electronics and high pressure fuel system upgrade. Is the LS market any better? I realize there are quite a few more of the LS based engines out there, but wasn't sure if they got the carb treatment any more than a 3G Hemi did.

I would guess the LS stays fuely most of the time because the cost isn't that of the g3. 63 is exactly right on the point that not everyone wants the injection. Did a 5.7 with the dual Edelbrock for a 34 Plymouth rat rod. He wanted a"hemi", didn't want the "fancy" electronics. The actual drag pak seems to be closer to a grand, little less in places. Ritter intake (drag pak knock off) are that 600 plus.

While I was at the Chrysler nationals the maker of the OCP was there with his GenIII Dart there are a few places selling them. You can also run a throttle body on it. But you want carb. Go all out and get the Mod man 6 pack for it. I thought the drag pack intake was not very streetable. Great for the strip. But not so much for cruising.

Definitely don't want the drag pak on this one, don't want to cut the hood. Even with the Edelbrock and possibly the mod man, may have to trim structure? I started out in this gen 3 thing head first, or more accurately, over my head. Had Hughes build my first one. Absolutely a fantastic engine. Been the most reliable trouble free engine ever! I have a Eagle headed early 5.7 with 6.1 cam on the stand. Been a two year project of absolute bottom dollar deal finding. How cheap, cost effective can we do this has always been the goal. Now we're down to the nut cuttin'. All the expensive **** to buy now. Induction, exhaust, electronics. Going to build the headers, not sure on the intake thus this thread, going to do the msd hemi 6. Going in the son's 73 scamp.

The ford mod 4.6 intake looks more promising than the ls. Flat mounting intake flange. Have to check port space and deck height on that one.

Buy the duel carb edlebrock and mod it for one carb

Definitely more than one way to skin a cat.

What about Arrow or Ritter?

I recently saw a post on a LS forum asking about adapting a Gen 3 Mopar intake to the LS engine!!!

Has someone check the thermostat in hell lately? That's crazy, lol.

I haven't seen a modern LS in a while, but I'm thinking that's a pretty significant port mismatch depending on what they are looking for. The LS in my parent's old 99 Vette they had used the cathedral ports that were tall and skinny, nothing like the big honking square ports on the Hemi intake.

Just checked out and ls3 head today. Rectangle port, but, spacing is wider than the hemi. Checked ford mod 4.6 intake gasket, too. No way on that either. That's frickin hilarious somebody wants to adapt mopar **** to a sacred gm! Lmao! Arrow intake is bad *** for the price. 550ish for the carb, I think. Probably hang out for a good deal something, dual four or not. Missed a dual four eddy on ebag for like 270 plus 45 to ship. Damn it.

Took care of my intake problem.

Bit the bullet and went with the Arrow/Prefix. I ordered the carb version and got the fuelly. I paid the carb price at 585. Guess I really have options now. I love it. It's a bad ***, good quality looking piece.

It's about an inch-ish taller than the Eddy dual plane/four. Was gonna carb it, but, since they sent me the fuelly intake, and, I've been seeing some good deals on t-bodies and electronics, I might go that route. Regardless, I think a damn scoop is in the future. Not the end of the world.

Sweet! I should be ok then. We'll find out this spring.

I see the motor plate and tube k. Engine still at factory height?
not really sure. maybe a slight 1in higher but no more than that. it was still very tight on drivers side with the old stock gearbox and k member. so it probably is stock height id guess. my trans tunnel and driveshaft tunnel has been raised and widened. other than that i couldnt tell ya. buti ha e 2 inches above my elbow to the stok flat hood. i can even turn the elbow and face it forward if i trim the top ls tb mounting hole off. the hood just has about 1/8" from closing with it as is. and the top ls mouting hole is an inch tall. more than enough room to trim and have clearence there.
