Post 11 second small block combos

-
I think I can post here now. Finally ran the Dart in some good air this weekend. Only problem is I was on an 1/8th mike track but I think this would have been good for an 11 second pass if I were on a 1/4 mile track.

Car went 7.48 at 90 mph. 1.54 60 foot

The best news is that I beat a 1965 Pontiac Lemans 455. He was gutted interior, no hood, no I inner fenders, open exhaust, ect.

The Dart is full interior, all steel, flat hood, quiet 2.5 exhaust all the way to the bumper.

5.9 junkyard magnum engine with 92,000 miles. Bone stock bottom end. EQ heads, air gap intake, Holley 750 DP, comp roller 230/234 @ .50, .506/.513 lift. Cheap summit 1 5/8 headers, 904 with an Ultimate 3,800 stall converter, 3.91 sure grip, SS springs, 90/10 shocks up front.

Man,those are some nice numbers the converter and 3.91's are the key..that 7.48@90 translates to a 11.85@111 in the 1/4 mile nice job:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Update. Almost there! Changed to IMM RHS heads and Comp hyd roller last year. Still running 380HP 360 shortblock.

It was a day race, DA was 2584, 72 deg. Maybe next night event?

The clock doesnt start until your tires break the beam. So it doesnt matter how long it takes you to hit the gas.

So my 75 dart sport with a 408 indy 360-1 heads and a qft 750 has been running 11.550-11.69 all summer long, in high humidity it's been low on mph 114-117 over last years 118+. Over the wknd combing over the car. Decided to give the carb another go. It's been an issue going full throttle. I've tried different cables (lokar) and I'm back to my stock now. It finally fully opens 100%. It was roughly 65-75% throttle all summer long. Throttle attachment point on linkage was hitting linkages effectively throttle stopping me. So make sure everyone double checks these things. I'm new 3 yr ownership and 40 passes deep on a carb setup. Learning as I go.

Here's 4 passes. First 2 high humidity and 27 celcius feeling like 36+ DA well over 3000

Last 2 passes. DA under 900, temperature 15 celcius. No humidity.
