Has anyone tried using Raybestos FRC4048 & FRC4047 in lieu of the seemingly unobtainable FRC4176 & FRC4175?

The 4048/4047 are mustang part numbers and the stock photos look identical. The specs look nearly identical, with the only difference being a 1.635 vs 1.64 bore size.

What sayeth ye, oh my children?

Looks real close to me. @hemi71x can tell you. Jim is a real class act and really sharp guy. He will know I bet.

I think I found the difference. The Mopar caliper seems to have another hole in one of the bosses where the Ferd part does not.

Curses.

Yeah and? Drill and tap it to 1/8" pipe. Then screw in an 1/8" male pipe to female 1/8" female inverted flare fitting. .....I might be wrong on the size.......could be 3/16" but either way, there's your fix.

Nevermind. I think I found the difference. The Mopar caliper seems to have another hole in one of the bosses where the Ferd part does not.

A Ford Mustang Kelsey Hayes, 4 piston, disc brake caliper, can be used on a Mopar, by using the appropriate rubber flex line that attaches to the caliper.
A Mustang caliper uses the rubber flex hose that screws directly into the body of the caliper, and a Mopar application uses a second metal, hard line, that the rubber hose then attaches to.
But depending on the year of the Mustang caliper, it uses either a 3/8 or 7/16 diameter thread size, to screw into the caliper.

What's your difficulty in obtaining Mopar styled calipers anyway?
Available from internet vendors, or local parts stores, that can order up, parts like that.
No big deal.

See Jesus, I knew there was a way to make it work. You big dummy.

Thanks, Jim!.....but I know you won't see this since you have me on ignore.

Well that cuts it! You're just a cheap *** impostor. The real Jesus wouldn't be cryin about how it won't work. He'd make it work. Lamer.

Well Considering there are options from other manufacturers available, I don' think it's worth wasting a miracle on these things. I was just searching for a more affordable option for my less fortunate children.

I am still seriously considering picking up seals and pistons and raising my existing calipers from the dead.

Hacking up these Ford calipers to make them work is more Joseph Mengele than Jesus Chrysler.

According to what Jim said, no hackin required. Dingbat.

Thank you!

Such hostility, you must be a Muzzy!

Well Jesus Christ someone takes the time to reply to a posting that you make, and then you have to make some sort of snide comment out of it.
Screw you.
And WTF is a Muzzy anyway?
I ain't got a clue.
Some sort of derogatory statement?

I thanked you for your answer.

RRR has inserted a snide comment at me in almost every post, so I was simply responding in kind.

Isn't the "hole" mentioned in the pic post a second threaded hole to allow the caliper to be used on either side?

FYI
For people that aren't familiar with these Kelsey Hayes 4 piston calipers, either Ford, or Mopar.
This is what a "Mopar" KH caliper looks like with the metal hoses, and bracket attached.
