Just kicking around the idea of exhaust cutouts and seeing if anyone has tried them and their opinion on the set-up. Worth it or no?

Exhaust what? Cutouts? Are they somethin new?

Yeah & new way to play music on a cartridge. I think they're called 8 tracks? Some new fangled thing.

Not a personal experience but I knew a guy who tried a set of the electronic cut outs and 1 hung up all the time and he said they tended to leak.

I thought about them and reconsider after in reality I probably wouldn't use them often.

I have the electric ones on my 2012 Challenger and I love them! I've had them for about 4 years now. You need to check your state laws because they are illegal in some states.
You can go from full muffler to open headers and anywhere in between with a press of a toggle switch.
That being said, keep in mind that they sound good FROM INSIDE THE CAR. They may NOT sound good from the outside, so if you are trying to impress people with a classic loud muffler tone, you may want to go a different direction. On the other hand if you are like me and don't care what others think, they may be just the thing for you.

That was some of my concern on the leaking and getting hung up. Mostly the hung up because small town cops are dicks and have nothing better to do lol

This is always a controversial subject for some reason. You will get a lot of people bashing them but I love mine. I have been running the old school cut outs for a few years now and I typically leave them off unless I’m going for a long drive. If you are young then crawling under the car with a wrench isn’t a huge deal. I did just buy some electric ones just to save me the hassel.

Are the electric ones pretty durable and reliable as far as taking the heat and being out in the elements and still shutting or opening? I'm young but would still rather just flip a switch lol

They are sitting on the floor next to my bed still haha

The car doesn’t have an engine so I’m not in a hurry to get the cut outs on.

My dad has a set on his mustang and they have helped up great after about 3 years.

I have a set of QTP 3" ones on my Duster. They make it sound great when they are open, but I find I barely use them now that the novelty has wore off. Once on a while I'll drive with them just cracked a little, it sounds good inside, but probably sounds like an exhaust leak outside. Lol

If you have the right size exhaust and high flow mufflers you don't need them.

If you run tiny pipes on a high performance engine like many around here recommend, they might help you.
