So a prev owner shoehorned this 440 into a 72 dart. The coupler is kissing the exhaust manifold. (Probably why steering box is loose and the column shaft is being pushed a bit toward the fenderwell)

Any options short of headers or swapping out the Power steering box?
Thank you all.

Angle mill the manifold, but those don't look like the HP manifolds which would be a better choice.

Check the left/right orientation at crank centerline in relation to frame section of unit body. 1" offset to pass side is acceptable. I would start there

What "I" would try first would be the easiest. Loosen the bolts that hold the column seal adapter to the firewall and try prying the whole thing over to the driver's side and re-tighten. I've had success with that in the past. It doesn't look like you need much room.

I’ll check, but pretty tight over there too. Thanks

Good idea. Worth a shot. Thanks!

THIS WILL HELP! Youcould also turn down the coupler a few .000 , and slightly grind the rust off the manifold too. All 3 will probably do it !

I would just be wanting to know how P.O. set the big block up in there. When I did the 440 in mine, many moons ago, it was Uber tight to pass side. To the point of grinding fins off exhaust manifold. That was with a 1” offset.
