So, for those that participated in the PST Super Bowl giveaway you may remember that I was the winner and chose the 1.03” torsion bars as my prize. After I removed the original 340 t-bars from my Duster, I leaned them in the corner and figured I’d put them up for sale here. While scrolling through the want adds here, I saw an add by @4fortyDemon looking for a pair of 340 bars for his project. Well, I figured one good deed deserves another so I gave him my old bars for FREE, and he just covered the shipping.
So, this got me thinking. This hobby is about the love of our cars and helping your fellow motorhead out when he/she is in need. Maybe it’s time for a “Free parts thread”.
There are only 2 rules here:
1. You cannot accept a free part(s) and sell it for profit. That makes you a scumbag and you deserve to rot in hot rod hell.
2. After you receive a free part(s), you have to offer something of yours up for grabs.
Doesn’t have to be nice, new, expensive, fancy, clean, etc. Could be ANYTHING you have laying around that you don’t need or won’t use- someone else may need it.

Let’s keep the freebies rolling and the brotherhood growing!
You’re up @4fortyDemon.

Jeff

Yes, this thread is getting out of hand. I am moving it to the Sale section so sale rules will apply. Here's the sale rules. Please follow them.

FABO For Sale Section Rules

Please adhere to the following rules in this forum. Failure to do so may result in your post being deleted without notice or explanation. Repeated violations may result in your being banned from this forum and/or the entire site.

We reserve the right to delete any ad or post for any reason or no reason, without notice or explanation.

Parts/Car Seller:
  1. Ads may NOT be placed by businesses. If you are a business contact the site Admin, Joeychgo for information on becoming a vendor.
  2. Have a descriptive Title. Dont just post A Body Parts in the title. Be more descriptive so the buyers know at least a little about what your selling. (Example Title: Duster Suspension Parts)
  3. No Bumping of ads.
  4. FABO Gold Members may bump once every 3 days.
  5. No repeated posting of same ad for one week.
  6. Please try to limit each thread to 1 part unless the parts are directly related. (ie Duster Suspension Parts)
  7. eBay auctions are permitted, but please give some detail of the item as well as the eBay link. DO NOT post just the eBay item number, post the link. Same thing goes with Craigslist or other 3rd party sites.
  8. You must Post either an Asking Price or Make offer with a BIN Price. (We prefer you post an asking price)
  9. Location (Preferably City & State) MUST be in the ad
  10. Please Post SOLD in the thread when the item(s) are sold. (We dont delete ads - please dont ask us to)
  11. Do NOT post email addresses or phone numbers in your ad or in any response to an ad. Use the PM feature. Only FABO Gold Members may place email and phone numbers in ads.
  12. Do not argue with others in the thread.
  13. Photos may help sell the part/car
Respondants:
  1. You may NOT post commentary in this forum.
  2. You MAY post relevant questions about the item being sold.

Be a Good Buyer / Seller
Pay fast / ship fast. keep the lines of communication open. give tracking numbers, let people know when an item has been shipped, etc. This is all common sense. Treat others how you would want to be treated.

Disclaimer:
FABO has no control over sellers or buyers, these are free, self service unpaid ads, so be cautious and careful with your on-line transactions. Know who you are dealing with before you send any money. Use your head. If a member has just a few posts, been a member for just a short time, and wants a money order, you might want to be a little concerned.

FABO Moderators, Owners and Administrators are not responsible and will take no action regarding the sale of items on this website between members.

Businesses:
If you are a business and have a product or service that would be of interest to our members, contact the Administrator, Joeychgo, to learn how you can help support our community and become a FABO Vendor. We offer several low-cost advertising packages that can be of great benefit to your company. You may not advertise on our website unless you have FABO vendor status. This includes sending PMs, signatures, etc.

Wrong thread Robert. You need to start your own sale thread. (even if you are giving your consoles away.)

Your giving that away for shipping cost

In the for sale section is where I have seen them before, just click the button near the top of the page, it looks like this;

It may be best for each person to list one item at a time in their own thread to avoid confusion though.....

You commit to the part that's up, you pay shipping, you post up your donation, someone else likes your donation, pays shipping and donates the part of their choice.

Been down this road with a popular member on here...who does post quite a bit...where I offered a free part and I even paid the shipping. I was Just trying to pay it forward for all the knowledge and advice I’ve received on FABO!

To this date I have not even received as much of a thank you for the part!

So lesson learned to either sell them straight out or just keep them and let them collect dust!

I have done that too. Most people say thanks.

I was visiting a FABO member a couple weekends ago to buy parts & mentioned having a 4-door Valiant & he gave me a a back glass for free.

He is stopping by here this morning to buy some parts & I am also giving him a front windshield for his Duster for free.

James , thanks for the torsion bars! You saved our bacon on having to drive and find some. Finally got things unpacked and will post the parts that I'm paying forward. Thanks again!!

Here is a sb windage tray. 2 are pictured. I am keeping one whichever suits my build best. The other one is up for grabs.
Can someone tell me the reason why the newer one is notched differently?
For different types of pumps?
Reply in this thread for dibs.
Cheers
Steve
