Also I will be ordering a front fiberglass bumper with the rear fiberglass bumper that I already do have. And I will be keeping my manual steering. I'm sure one of my projects this summer will be completely lightning that hood though. I do think I'll under spring load the hinges and use a prop. I could really get a ton more weight or the hood if I did that. Actually one of my goals is to see if I can get the hood anywhere close to fiberglass weight.

LOL..... i kind of feel like this is like comparing the '96 Bulls to the 2017 GS Warriors. Just a good argument that we'll NEVER know the answer to...... :D
Oh, remember, YR has entered his Dart Sport AND his son has entered his new Duster in the 2018 small block race. Think we'll get a pass from both?
Oh, I almost forgot, YR is in with his 4x4 Dodge against your truck and my ramcharger :D

Yellow rose has a son? Even better! My son usually races the car during the Mopar Nationals so...
Even a better race would be us building the cars by hand! Not buying them already built! And putting our sons in them and having them race?
 
My power wagon is definitely faster than yours and definitely faster than yellow roses. I'm not going to race my truck at the track. I'm the self-proclaimed winner of that race already. I don't have to waste my time or money.

yeah, but yours came with a hp cam, 3.91's, headers and all the fix'ns and i heard you put a 4" crank in that baby. :D
Ramcharger will get a E.T. slip because my wife (which has no interest in racing but loves old cars) asked if it can enter the 2018 race. So, she has entered as "wifewillrun". YR entered his son as "Nerd" with the new Duster... LOL.

Okay talk to the wife and "MAYBE" is what I say. For the truck only if she wants too.
Now as far as my son he's an ase-certified mechanic is drove the duster at Woodburn many many times and took the second-chance bracket almost down to the final two years ago. He can go arounds, and actually possesses the time slip with the quickest reaction time between him and me. But of course old pops still has the quickest quarter mile ET! LOL

Brother JD and I share a likeness where we actually build our own cars that we drive and race. We don't write checks...
So if I had to explain to him that I was buying a shirt for a check writing racer....
This wasn't an Avenue I was wanting to go down with them at the point. I was really just trying to get an idea of what he was into at that time. I've actually been down to La again since then and didn't bother with him that week. I'm sure he's got work to do...

Well damn, if you go back down there, I'll give you a check and you can get me a T shirt. Seems easy and simple enough to me.

I try to do what I do best, and that's write my name. I can sign checks like a ****. Things get done faster when you sign the checks. And, my hands don't get dirty. I like that.
 
the check writer, catchy name! I think you should put it on your helmet and door, YR.
 
and we have jpar in the left lane and YR the check writer in the right. lmao
 
I may get some magnets for the door but I'll damn sure get the "Check Writer" painted on my helmet! That's as cool as hell.

And yes, I'll write a check to have it done.

Dose your store bought car get your hands dirty? My car was just recently stripped to the frame, triple scrubbed with TSP, and would you like to think at this point I'd be putting "dirty" parts back on my car?

I don't get my hands dirty. I have people that do it for me. I sit back, bark out orders like John Wayne on a cattle drive, drink a ginger ale and when the dirty work is done I write the check.

It's good to be 39 and not need to do the dirty work any more.

I enjoy tinkering on my sterile and clean car that Stomps on dirty greasy check written cars.

I think you should write all the people that voted for you a check? I mean they should get some satisfaction for their choice. Certainly showing up to race would be the qualifications? Now I know you're not going to start that come out to where you're at bs again? Knowing that you come to Portland several times a year for this that or the other. And PIR is obviously neutral grounds for both of us. That and Woodburn.
Anyways my recommendation for anybody that voted for you is to get ahold of you and get their pay off check.

Is there gonna be an HONEST date set for this 14 month long, 641 post marathon challenge..............is it really gonna happen or is there gonna be another 14 month, 600 plus post marathon about who is holding up the show????? To be sure it's been entertaining; I really like a good laugh; now it's time to "put up or shut up"......

The Genius Machinist or the Hillbilly...........God only needed 6 days for creation..........you both have been at it considerably longer:poke:

It's ready for a testing. Tomorrow I'm going to try and fire it up on just 92 non ethanol. I want to see how it runs and do a little bit of tuning and maybe take a couple degrees of timing out of it. Maybe run a feeler gauge through the rocker arms. I called about a half hour ago and set an alignment appointment for first thing Wednesday morning which looks like the first day of no rain. Once the alignment done I hope to drive it around a little bit and give it a little shake down make sure no more fuses are going to pop or any other issues. But for all intent and purposes of this thread I am more than ready! Now it's time to get down to the business of this race!

I couldn't agree with you more it's time to put up or shut up LOL I am not hiding I am ready to go I am not making no excuses I'm ready to go I'm not going all the way to the middle of Washington to look for yellow rose. I have absolutely nothing to prove. There isn't one piston one ring one rod one crank one gear in my 4 speed transmission or one axle bearing in my rear end that has not been showed on this this forum. If I was one of the 20 people that voted for yellow rose I would definitely be asking him when he would be able to get his car to Portland this year? Or where my check is for voting for him! LOL
 
Okay honest-to-goodness bottom line here again my back is killing me so I've got the whole day to kill here and giving yellow rose a hard time seems like the best thing to do! LOL not really and all true honest I see I hope we can get together and barbecue and have a bunch of fun at the track this year that would be totally cool!
