I heard a rumor that you can run the Borgenson power steering box stand alone with no pump, just vent the holes and fill with oil. Anybody done this? Is it harder than bleep to steer? If not what are your thoughts? I installed the box on my 64 thinking I wanted PS but now I'm not so sure..
 
If it's anything like driving one with a bad pump, than it's no fun at all to drive if you're doing anything other than straight line driving. Remember if you want to switch to manual you need a longer steering column shaft.
 
So the car was originally manual, the box wasn't in very good shape so I've replaced every component in the steering with new stuff. The column I shortened and rebuilt for the Borgenson box.
I bought the Borgenson because a few people told me that's the way to go for header clearance and a quicker ratio. But since then I hear people say they really enjoy the manual steering and I wasn't to keen on having to put a pump on.
After having read a few threads I'm thinking I'll go with a pump with the lowest pressure I can get away with.
I know for sure that I want some feed back, a little effort too feel like I'm driving. I really don't like the one finger steering for a car like this.
Any recommendations for a pump setup?

You're welcome! I can't find the kit I bought, but you could probably just use hardware store washers and be fine. Good luck!
