Been chasing back pain. My lumbar spine is unstable due to things being worn out. Had sciatic pain down both legs, one epidural took care of. Also uncovered the next pain, they went and did a nerve ablation on the right side between L-1 & S-1, which is where the most damage is. That worked as well. Went and had an injection into my right sacroliac joint. That helped as well. Was at therapy, the therapist noticed my pointer & middle finger starting to bend on my right hand. Quick trip to the rheumatologist, waiting for the results from the blood draw an x-rays. Dale doesn't think it is RA, just the osteoarthritis advancing. Most of knuckles have good sized nodules on them. My left hand no longer straightens all the way out, my middle finger has started making this odd grinding sound. Spent Saturday at the race track, taking pictures. Now the side of my L-5/S-1 area is pounding.
Ever go to bed and hope you don't wake up? Sadly starting to feel this way.
Considering selling everything, seriously doubt I will ever get to any of it. Had all these plans of what I was going to do when I was no longer employed...sadly my body had its own plan.
This sucks...
Apologies for yet another boo-hoo thread...

Find a good acupuncturist and most of your pain should be go away.

Well Boo-Hoo back at ya!

I've been chasing therapy, about 3 kinds of injections, FentNYL patches and a whole lot of boo-hoo myself. After 3 knee replacements and a bad hip I whine at myself quite a bit lately and can't seem to get **** done on Dottie Rae either.

I need to get primer on the top half so I can flip over the rotisserie!

Anyway, having a 4 level Laminectomy on the 7th of next month.

I have had good reports, let you know what happens!

Have you tried it successfully?
Absolutely. I had a really bad case of Sciatica. I could not walk at all. It hurt to lay down being completely still. My older son's had to carry me on an ironing board from the living room to my bedroom at night. I went to my acupuncturist and after 3 treatments I was TOTALLY cured!! No pain, no stiffness. I don't like needles that much so I had avoided going to acupuncture for a year. During that year I had seen numerous doctors, neurosurgeons and specialist (XRAYS, MRIs, etc). They all wanted to operate. I refused to let them operate and finally broke down and went to acupuncture. It was amazing. Totally amazing. That was over 30 years ago. That acupuncturist gave me my life back. 30 years without pain is wonderful!!!

I've gone back for other pain issues (which were also fixed) but have never had to go back for my Sciatica.

Incredible!
Here's something else that's very hard to believe or understand...About a year after the sciatica acupuncture I was working in the oil field and lifted a heavy pipe. I twisted wrong and felt the sciatic pain start to hurt down the back of my leg. But then I had this weird feeling. I noticed that at every spot that the acupuncturist had inserted a needle it started to "tingle". It was as if the needles had been re-inserted. The tingle occurred about 30 seconds after I had re-injured the nerve lifting the large pipe. So, first a got some mild pain from re-injuring the sciatic nerve then the tingle started at the points of needle insertion. Then the pain went away and never came back. So believe it or not, the body "remembers" the acupuncture and automatically corrects any re-injury to the same nerve. The crazy Chinese people know some crazy stuff!!!! Since then I have lifted bare V8 engine blocks (by myself) and carried them a good distance, no pain ever!!

Used to do that ALL the time. Young stupid Jarhead lifted shortblocks quite often.

Maybe that's why I hurt now

One important point!!...........The acupuncturist I see has many, many years of experience. I first saw him 30 years ago and he has since become a "Master" acupuncturist. He knows his stuff. My point is that a lesser acupuncturist might not have the same effect on your issues. If you do find a really good acupuncturist you will not believe the results!! My acupuncturist always tells me..never get surgery for pain problems because the scar tissue left behind by the surgery makes it more difficult for the acupuncture to work (if the surgery is unsuccessful). He has many times cured the pain on patients with herniated discs. Good luck with your journey and I hope you find relief.

The painkillers are a feel good while they last, then there's the withdrawal. Take your time, relax, enjoy the morning coffee either sitting or working on the car, reflect on the good stuff and smile when you can. Gets me through the rough days.
