I am at the point in my build now to run new transmission cooler lines. I am going to be running into the radiator then from radiator to a cooler back to the trans. I am wondering about running dash 6 braided line, has anyone done this? If so what will I need for fittings from a 904 trans? Also other people’s insight or ideas would be appreciated too. Thanks in advance,
Jake

Adapters are no problem, the trans is pipe thread. AN fittings are same as JIC, used in tractor/ industrial hydraulics. A no6 JIC/AN to pipe thread is easy to get. Don't remember if they are 1/4 or 1/8 offhand

"The trick" is that AN/ JIC are 37 degree flare, the original inverted flare or male flare (brass) are 45 degree. No5 (5/16) will screw together but the flare angle is different. No6 JIC/AN is a different thread than no6 SAE (45 degree)

I ran 6 AN from the trans to a separate log style cooler mounted under the radiator on the front valance. The only picture I could find that shows the cooler.

Question of the day! Do people know what AN stands for? Yes I know the answer?
Post your thoughts.

Most people don't. But we have very smart FABO members. Someone will chime in.
:)

I use 1/8 npt to #6 braided line from the trans to separate cooler in front of car...cooler has #6 filling on it...

Another fun fact is the 6 in 6AN is 6/16ths or 3/8. Its all in 16ths , 20AN is 1 1/4"

Here's what I did.-6 with the line going straight to the gap in the lower inner fender to clear the linkage and headers and aluminum to the front cooler. I have dual 2 speed fans (contour) controlled by the ECM to pull steady air. I have stock grill openings in the glass nose so flow isn't an issue.

I`m surprised no trans. people have jumped in here, and said anything about the trans. threads not being "EXACTLY'' 1/8" pipe. they are close and will take 1/8" fittings, but they are not exactly 1/8" pipe . Anyone notice the diff. ??
