I just bought a new Northern radiator . The exit tube slants up slightly . I have a 400 block pass side inlet. The rad tub is a little higher then the water pump inlet , inlet sets about 1" 1/2 or so off to the right of the radiator tube. I'm having a hard time finding something that will match up.
I don't think I can get a good enough picture to post. Any hose experts . How do you get around the odd matches ?
Fist picture is probably the best , it was hard to get the right angles. This probably won't do much good.

An adapter. The first thing I thought was I need a picture. Try....

He said "Hose experts" LOL...

You just get one of those flexi ones that's really stiff. How about that for the oxymoron of the day! LOL
You know the accordion style ones but it has a very solidness to it that won't collapse under the Heat and suction of a good high volume pump.

Sometimes you don't get to just do the stock one when do you have something that's different. I can't tell you the amount of money I've spent trying to make something that wasn't stock fit. Basically it's one of those things where you go down to your part store and ask if you can go back there and look at the hoses and start trying to match something up and maybe even having to trim something.
At least that's how I did it.

My old radiator I used a hose from a 70
Challenger , it wouldn't fit this app. I have enough old hose ,maybe I can mock one up
and see if I can match one up

Last summer I put a 318 in my car with a high-volume water pump. Normally I run an electric water pump. But anyways it was sucking the lower hose and making it collapse. So I had to get one with either a coil in it or something made of a stiffer material. and this one just happened to fit the bill. It's very stiff and couldn't collapse and could coil in any shape I wanted it. Just ask the guys at the auto parts store to let me know on the back wall and see what they had. I always thought these hoses were kind of cheesy but this one just happened to work great and is really stiff material. Oh yeah and I forgot it was kind of expensive for a hose!

Your rad tube is setting lower then the water pump inlet. My rad tube is about an 1" higher and off to the right side , kind of a dog leg.
Hose will have to look like a drain trap.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Mine has the same thing. (Aluminum radiator, 400, passenger side water inlet water housing). The guy I bought my Barracuda had an interesting setup in there. Looks like a chrome flex hose with two sections of rubber hose connecting it to the radiator and water pump housing. I will try to remember to get some pictures of it tonight. Please IM me if I forget and don't respond soon. There are some tight complex bends in that hose!!

Actually my radiator is for GM 427/454
but fit with modifications. I had a hard time
finding Mopar rads in that size, for the money I was willing to put out. I know the set up your talking about. EBay has them
$30/50 , flex hose with ends. I would be interested to see your set up. The hose itself can't be that long. The hose has to go up sideways , down and up like a sink trap

Yeah, mine comes out of the radiator angling upwards, then dives back down and curls around like a drain trap, then back up to the water pump housing inlet. I'm guessing he used one of the ones like in the attached picture that Jegs offers.

Ya that's it . I'll probably be doing that. I can't see the rubber universal hoses flexing that tight with out crimping

We cut the nipples off radiators ALL THE TIME and TIG weld them where we want them.
Any good welder should be able to do it for ya....

Much better than a bunch of funky bends...

Great minds run in the same Chanel . I did that today. He cut and moved it , then tacked it. I brought it home to make sure it would line up.It was right on. I took it back so he could finish. Now no worries about finding
the right hose. Any 1 3/4" 90 will work.
