did a magnum swap in my sons race car
Hurt the LA engine and used what we had hopefully it will be faster here’s the details of both
LA 360
340 x heads with port work
Kb 191 piston roughly 10.5 compression
Purple shaft 292/509. 1.6 rockers Ha ha
Rpm airgap 750 Holley
Best et was 6.97 wanna say at 95-97 mph
Magnum set
Eq 2.02 heads little port work
Right at 11to 1 compression
Comp cam 245 duration 5.85 lift on a 108
Lsa hyd roller
With the same airgap and carb
Side note
The magnum engine sounds nasty if that means anything
Got a few minor issues then we will test and tune

Will be interesting to see how it runs, I was thinking of putting together something similar while I freshen up the 340 in my car.

Keep us posted. Would like to know how much difference there is between the two.

Magnum engine went 6.97 @98mph which was the best the LA 360 ever did in Great conditions
Off the trailer with a terrible 60 foot
Only got one pass in
But I’m thinking the magnum make a touch more power

That is a good run for 1st time out. Whats the motor in?

2800lbs chevette I know
not the car we want but it’s what we had
My son’s 7.0 index car

Nothing wrong with that! Getting the younger guys out there is what its all about.

It gets no respect
But the kid has put some badass race cars on the trailer with it

Whatever works, and IMO far less "offensive" than the other way around (Chevy in a Mopar). I think it's awesome you guys are keeping a Mopar engine on a budget and saving money on the car instead, actually pretty brilliant when you think about it... at the end of the day it doesn't really matter what a race car looks like, it's all about what's underneath.

Agreement ,Khalid ... The engineering has been done , why not take advantage of such?.
