How big of a jerk am I? Or are you?

Its your car. Only you can lean on it and pile crap on it.
But in this situation, you will be ignored.
Move the car. Problem solved.

Tell them to hire union labor next time.

Unfortunately the engine is out for a cam upgrade right now. I would have moved it otherwise.
And is this Gorsky guy for real? Maybe I should invite him over this weekend? He could sit on my new patio furniture while I stack **** on his car! Sound good?

[VAMP] Get it running and PM me when you’re ready to sell it. I’m not worried about a little grip juice :) [/VAMP].

Doesn't matter what car looks like. They were disrespectful of your property and didn't follow your instructions. I probably would have said screw the patio furniture and kicked their *** of my property. Producers should have been overseeing what was going on.
DEFINITLY THIS !!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Your car, your rules. They don't need to make sense to anyone else. No room for discussion. They can go somewhere else and live by their rules.
I have brought patio furniture to these things. They were astounded when I made them unload it. The reason they give it to you is they high cost of taking it away.

I stopped reading at the "Hipster dragged...."

It's kick his *** time. Because it is the point of the matter.

Then lock all things on top of the cr in the trunk while you charge a storage a fee. Initial charge is $100 followed by $50 a day for each item. Call the cops as soon as someone bitches. Charge them for body work. Use baseball bat to enforce.

I would have walked up and thrown all their **** on the ground right in front of them, and told them to GTF off the car.
Shitheads.

No one who I would have to tell not to touch my Barracuda gets close to my Barracuda.
Car guys are a minority and the general public doesn't get it.
I probably would have lost it and went space shuttle on their ***---------------
You are to be commended for your patience------------

Unfortunately, the lesson went unlearned some time ago, and now the old dogs don’t get it!

When we worked in a business where we were dealing with very sensitive people about their property (read: old ladies and their flower gardens) we were under no orders to be careful and just get the job done. No..we constructed special scaffolding and low height planking to be able to work low, but straddle and shield their prize begonias. Got a lot of cookies and cold drinks there from grateful people, because we were courteous and considerate! Sadly, it is a virtue almost lost nowadays!

My advise is...you can either beat the old dog for not learning, or train the old dog with temperance and virtue!

Me? I’m an asshole...

Or, you can break the dogs legs and never have to worry about it going where it shouldn't

Average person don't read signs, and the average person is dummer than the "average" person. Don't be surprised when others don't think/act like you do. Wife found a stray Chihuahua dog, took very good care of it, could not find the owner, gave the dog away. A week later, dog was killed (run over) when it ran outside. I was not surprised when I heard about the dog's fate, I was not surprised to hear the crew was all over your car. Some of the best advice we can take to heart is: "Expect the very worst of people".

dont answer just yet but if you have time for a long winded question, read on.
At the moment, there is a small film crew in my backyard filming a backyard remodel internet show. My sister in law is head of this company that makes these little promotional videos for this home remodel website.
I work in this industry doing lighting on commercials, tv shows etc so I know the havoc a film crew can wreak on someone's house. But since it's for family and they are only in the backyard, I agreed as it would really help out my sister in law. It's a crew of only about eight people and we supposedly get about $1k in patio furniture for our trouble. The wife wanted to do it sooooooo........here we are.
The only worry here is that my 65 belvedere lives in the driveway in front of the garage, behind the house. My only stipulation in allowing these guys in our yard was that my car not be touched. At all.
So Friday they came and dropped off tools, cleared off our patio etc and were set to start filming today. I got off work early today and peered out the back window to check out the operation and was a little unnerved. A couple of hipster dudes leaning on the car. Lots of people's personal belongings on my car. And some heavy duty extension cords(stingers) across the hood. That's when one of the hipster dudes dragged the cord across the hood of my car. I am now over it, officially. Lol.
Now bear in mind that my car doesn't have fancy paint or anything but I have worked hard on it and I really like the car. It's heavily patina'd but has a near perfect grille, rechromed bumpers, really nice original tinted glass, nice brightwork, etc.
Right about then my wife came home and I told her we(she had dealt with them exclusively up to now) needed to talk to these folks about the car. We politely told them that we didn't want the car touched and reminded them that we had stated that initially, as well. Not to mention, they could run their wires UNDER the car quite easily.
The producer people were super nice but the kids on the crew looked at me like I was from mars. I understand that my car looks like junk to a non car person but I do have quite a bit of money in this thing. I felt stupid for a minute but then I thought to myself, "hey screw that! It's my damn car and I don't want anyone messing with it!"
So my question to you guys is, what is your policy about people touching your car? And, obviously, I know you guys don't want anyone touching a car with nice paint, etc. I have included a picture of the whole operation so you can see the condition of the car and the remodel operation. Do you get pissed if someone leans on your driver/beater?
I was just thinking about this after these guys left and wondered what you guys thoughts were.

Damn kids!! Get off my lawn!!!
Here is a reference photo. And yes, there is a porta-John next to my car.

They may not have gotten the memo even if you said it before.
They looked at you because millennials are turning away from car ownership.
(Look it up).

I don't seem to have problems with people touching my cars that I know of.

To answer your questions.
1. Don't touch.
2. I would get irritated. Not pissed. If no damage.
It does show a lack of respect for other's property.
Now, car door dings and shopping cart scratches equals pissed.

I would have gone down taken everything off the car, unplugged the cord and and got everyone away from the car. The first time. Second time their stuff would get thrown in every direction, and it would go down hill fast from there. I’m part Viking and have, literally, gone berserk before.

Reminds me of the time I parked out away from all the other vehicles in a parking lot. When I came back, someone else had parked right alongside me. ??
